Speaking with Coming Soon, Darren Aronofsky - who'll direct the upcoming adaptation of the classic Bible story, Noah - confirms that he wants to make the film a big event movie, since the budget's reportedly $130 million. He also talks a bit about the religious background of the story, saying that it's a 'fable' that can be accepted by many religions.

On how big he wants the film to be...
"I want to make a big event film, and I think it can be that."

On the religious background of the story of Noah's Ark...
"I don't think it's a very religious story. I think it's a great fable that's part of so many different religions and spiritual practices. I just think it's a great story that's never been on film."

With Christian Bale reportedly being in talks for the title role, Darren Aronofsky's Noah currently has no release date.

HMHMMMMM....EPIC FAIL!!!!

Of course its a religious story...more importantly its an EPIC part of HISTORY....but since hes a hollywood man and would get flack for saying otherwise...i guess what he states there will be accepted by the movie goer....if he wants this to be a success he will acknowledge that it is religious and then see the masses pay to watch the film.

That's only if you believe a man built a boat large enough to accomodate two of every species on the planet (because there is no such thing as evolution, right?) while the world flooded, and none of said species died, got ill, or killed one another...ya know, now that I think about it....it makes complete sense! :P

Okay, Talontd, we get it, you don't believe in the bible. Here's an interesting thought. What if in all of the dozens of translations the bible has been through, the word land became earth. Land meaning territory, province, or region. So with this translation, a boat that is 300 cubits would be large enough for two of every predator, and seven of every herbivore (it's not two of every kind, it's a common mistake), in order to survive a regional flood. Now that makes sense.

Oh yeah, and who said anything about evolution?
