Sci Fi Wire has posted photos of The Hobbit set. This shows there's a little more proof that The Hobbit will be made. It's outstanding to see the construction of a new Shire. These photos are over a month old and were taken before director Guillermo del Toro left the project. I hope Peter Jackson get's someone competent to direct this film.

its not that it wont be made, its when.... even del toro said everything was done and waiting for the green light, it was the legal stuff keeping it from being made

guys, dont make fun of their golf carts......what else we gonna give them to drive? a hummer? and escalade? shoot i dont even think a smart car will be right for them

@Cyanide: They are using the same setting from the original LotR movies for the Shire. If you look carefully you can see the old tracks/paths and facades from where the fronts of hobbit holes were present. Theres no point using elsewhere when they have the available landscape already set up from the previous films.
