After being pushed back from its original May 2020 release, The Green Knight is finally set to hit theaters next month, and A24 has now shared a mini-documentary titled Legends Never Die: An Oral History of Sir Gawain and The Green Knight which delves into the origins of the Arthurian tale and the mysterious surrounding the poem which has inspired so many over the years.

Narrated by The Green Knight himself, The Witch actor Ralph Ineson, this featurette is a must-watch for anyone who wants to know a little more about the story before the film comes our way on July 30.

"An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger. From visionary filmmaker David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table.”

@soberchimera - Indeed. I can't wait to see him in The Norseman. Hopefully it goes better than the last time he played a sea-faring warrior, on Game of Thrones.

This is what im looking for in a thor film. maybe not as overtly serious/dramatic as this film seems to be, but its taking it characters and mythology seriously (unlike ragnorok) and without it being dull or boring (like the first 2 are)

@LeBronStan - playing around the MCU mythology is far more interesting for that world. But there will come a time when Norse mythology gets its own movies. just not in the marvel realm of things
