VIDEO: Benedict Cumberbatch Talks Doing Motion-Capture For SMAUG In The HOBBIT Trilogy

Benedict Cumberbatch, the actor who most people hope will portray Marvel's Dr. Strange in the future, spoke on how he felt like a fool while put on the gear for the motion capture process, "You get in the gear and feel like a complete knob," He then tells the "up side" about working with the motion capture outfit ,  "It’s the most extraordinary technology, unlike green screen which can be really demanding," he then continued "playing this extraordinary character and just imagining everything." The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is a 2014 epic fantasy adventure film, directed by Peter Jackson and written by Jackson, Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, and Guillermo del Toro. It will be the third and final installment in the three-part film adaptation based on The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. It is preceded by An Unexpected Journey (2012) and The Desolation of Smaug (2013). Produced by New Line Cinema, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and WingNut Films, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, the film is scheduled for release on 12 December 2014 in the United Kingdom and 17 December 2014 in the United States, and the first teaser trailer was released at the San Diego Comic Con on 26 July 2014. The movie stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Orlando Bloom and Christopher Lee.

@Nightwatcher, a word of advise dude, don't put a gif banner and then the video right underneath it, it's hard to keep up with the video when the banner keeps playing over and over again, a paragraph inbetween and a bit of spacing would be much better :)

The interesting thing is in TASM Marc Webb wanted to have no snaut on the lizard so he could talk convincingly, yet Smaug was able to talk pretty convincingly with a long ass snaut lol
