The last we heard from the the Ghost Rider sequel, which is being titled,
"Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance", was that the original 2007 "Ghost Rider" star Nicholas Cage WOULDN'T be reprising his role as the stunt motorcyclist, Jonny Blaze. But now it seems the movie is officially happening with THR claiming not only the reprisal of Cage, but the film gaining two duo directors.
Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are in early negotiations to direct Columbia’s “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,” And Nicolas Cage is in early negotiations to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze.
THR includes that Plot details are under wraps, and it is not known if any other character from the previous movie will return.
And with a story written by David Goyer, the studio hopes to get principal photography going by late fall. And Avi Arad, Ari Arad, Michael De Luca and Steven Paul are producing, while Goyer and Mark Steven Johnson are exec producing.
The duo directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor was originally set to direct Jonah Hex, which hits theaters next month, but dropped out reportedly due to "creative differences". It was speculated that the duo wanted a dark take on "Hex", while the studio wanted something different. But I'm sure "dark" is the way to go with "Ghost Rider".
