GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Retro Commercial Teases Awesome Mix Vol. 2 Release

Well, we now know where those creepy GIFS of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 cast dancing came from! This retro commercial teases the upcoming soundtrack release and it's well worth a watch...

It was yesterday that we got the full list of songs on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's Awesome Mix Vol. 2 and now a commercial has been released which pays homage to the commercials of yesteryear.

It's pretty fun, but a tad cringeworthy too. Marvel's marketing campaign for the sequel hasn't been the best in all honesty as it's often felt like they're trying to be a bit too cute. Despite that, everything we've heard about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has so far pointed to it being
amazing, while tracking data indicates this being a hit for Marvel Studios which could very easily reach that $1 billion mark.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Kurt Russell, the movie will be released on May 5th.

This is what I like. Not just embracing absurdity, but going all-out to make your art reflect the genre or time period you're trying to evoke. Stylization is the key to making your piece stand out. Not stylization in a Snyder, Bay, or Boll sense. More in an Anderson , Mann, or Leone sense. Good on you, Marvel.

So awesome how big the music is for this franchise. Especially older tunes that get exposed to a newer generation, some great music that many people don't know or forgot about. Can not wait for this movie!
