Here's A Sampling Of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2's Operatic And Epic Score

Earlier today, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn broke new ground when he shared a Facebook Live video of the score for the movie being recorded in London. Tyler Bates is returning to work on the franchise after scoring the first instalment back in 2014, and while most people tend to remember that movie's soundtrack, it sounds like the score for the sequel will be very memorable.

That's evident from what we hear in the clip below. It instantly evokes memories of other cosmic franchises like Star Wars and Star Trek but is still clearly very much
its own thing. To say it sounds epic would be an understatement, though where it will fit into Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 obviously remains to be seen for now. What do you guys think of this first snippet of the follow-up's score?

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Kurt Russell, the movie will be released on May 5th.

@InfinityWar2019 - Bon Jovi is great, but that's a song from the late 80's, Gunn will problably stick with songs from the 60s-70's.
I'm personally hoping for this one...

@bropous -
I'm still expecting it to open with a song from Footloose after the previous movie refrenced it. Either that or using it for a chase scene where Starlord is trying to rescue Gamora.

Thank you for reminding me that Cherry Bomb was awkwardly placed in the soundtrack for the first film...jerk! >:(

@MeAreLegend - Correction. It sounds a lot like how you would expect Star Wars to sound... but Star Wars has never sounded like this.

Dude, that sounds really good. I haven't been vry excited when listening to movie soundtracks lately, especially for superhero flicks; they are all starting to sound kinda generic to me. But this one sounds GOOD. Miles better than the one for Vol. 1

this is beautiful sounding... it evokes the first score and it builds on it... NICE!
