Peter Berg says Hancock 2 won't be coming anytime soon.

No Hancock 2 in the near future.

Here is what "Hancock" director Peter Berg has to say about the planned sequel:

"There are so many cooks in that particular kitchen that are so busy and Will's kind of taken time off to be with his kids and his kids are now making all kinds of films and there are so many people involved in that from Will to his partner James Lassiter to Akiva [Goldsmith] to Michael Man and myself," Berg says. "To get us all in the same room where we can talk and then agree on anything? You'll never meet a group of people who will have a harder time agreeing on anything. It's like the Israeli peace process times a thousand in how tough it is for us all. But I think it will happen, we just all have to get in the same room with some consistency."

Peter Berg said that he does not see Hancock to be his next project after his other project "Battleship" next year. He is planning to do "Lone Survivor" after "Battleship".

He also plans to make a sequel for Dwayne Johnson's the Rundown.

"I love 'The Rundown.' I don't know if the audience was quite ready to accept Dwayne [at the time]. We had a certain amount of resistance," Berg says. "They screwed around with our release date, but the film still performed well."

I didn't particularly love "Hancock," but it was watchable and at times entertaining.

Good, a sequel is not needed!!!

A prequel though of his rich past leading up to the HANCOCK movie would be A + !!

Pity HOLLYWOOD don't see it! ; )

what about a sequel that better explores his past?
what if he and mary weren't the only two left?
what if one went bad?
what if this guy was immune to loss of powers?
what if he created them for his own nefarious deeds?

i mean there are so many possibilities with this sequel!

The HANCOCK one movie was done lol????

Nowhere to go, and a sequel wont be any better but a prequel/origin could be?!

Still not too bothered lol, HANCOCK was only interesting when he didn't give a sh1t an was a super-powered drunk! : D

They do most of the movie on that, it would be [frick]ing good!!!

let me say the original script for handcock was great the movie that was made and what Hollywood did to the script ruined it.

@LEEE777

most prequel sucks. i rather want to see Hancock 2 with a better script and a Supervillain.

I agree with Lee in that the best part of Hancock was the first half..they messed it up by making him give a shit. Id watch a sequel though, some great bits in the first movie.
