Sony Hires New Writer For MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

Variety report that Sony Pictures and Escape Artists have hired Richard Wenk rewrite their He-Man pic Masters of the Universe. Alex Litvak and Mike Finch wrote the initial draft of the script, originally titled "Grayskull."
Wenk most recently penned the script for Sony's The Equalizer, a big screen remake of the tv series which will star Denzel Washington. He also worked on 16 Blocks, The Mechanic, and he co-wrote The Expendables 2 with Sylvester Stallone. So, we can expect quite a bit of action as is only right, but much else? Guess we'll find out. Jon M. Chu (Step up 2, Step Up 3, Bieber, GI JOE: Retaliation) will direct the movie which "follows a young prince who becomes a warrior and sets out to defeat the evil Skeletor and fulfill his destiny as He-Man".
