Lionsgate has now released the first official clip from Neil Marshall's Hellboy reboot, and while it's a little on the short side, it should give fans a pretty good idea of what to expect from the movie's tone.

In the sneak peek, Professor Broom (Ian McShane) interrupts the demonic hero's lunch to tell him about a group of Egyptian deities (a little nod to McShane's role in American Gods, perhaps?) that need his help with a giant problem. If you've seen the trailers, you'll already know he means that literally.

Check out the clip below and let us know what you make of it in the comments.

Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.

Hellboy hits theaters on April 12, 2019.

@L0RDbuckethead - Yeah. I was excited to hear about this being rebooted, but EVERYTHING I've seen about it since looks really lame.

@Feralwookiee - the dialog was decent here, but man the makeup on harbor suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. Ian McShane is also fantastic so hopefully the makeup doesnt ruin it.

@L0RDbuckethead - What the hell. Could be fun. I don't see it doing smash hit at the box office, though.

Is that GIANT problem the fact that Neil Marshall was dating that lady that just got Tsujihara ousted and he tried to give her Mila Jokovic's role, (out of breath) and the fact that this already mediocre-looking movie is now in danger of a PR firestorm?

@SpideyPuffsMJ - And his taking time off to be with her "in this difficult time ". I don't think he care about this movie .

@NightwingNad - Considering he misled us on the tone of the film based on what we've seen so far, I'd say you're right. Can't say I care either.

@SpideyPuffsMJ -
He's all in on Charlotte Kirk. He's developing new horror projects they're writing together where she's the lead.

This woman has a magic vagina!

@SpideyPuffsMJ - No. the GIANT problem is while Hellboy was shooting, Marshall left production to move in & [frick] Kirk

What did I do to deserve this

@LEVITIKUZ @Battabing - WowWowWowWowWow. First, didn't think it was possible for me to dislike Ratner more. But oh my God. I have next to no faith in this movie at this point. I'm not sure how to come to a different conclusion after reading that. Holy shit, Neil Marshall is [frick]ed up lol. Why drag the next Hellboy project down like this?? For a slam-piece??

@SpideyPuffsMJ - So she's banging everyone she meets, huh?

Really living up to the Kirk name, isn't she?

@LEVITIKUZ - Dude, Tsuhihara could have done a LOT better finding an actress to sacrifice his career for...

Hell, the guy could have found a LOT better dragging a $50 bill through Laguna Beach behind a moped wearing Speedos...

we didn't get Hellboy 3 for this. sigh, seems like a waste, specially if it flops, then it's back to sleeping for the Hellboy IP.
ps: someone should make a Hellboy game in the vein of Devil May Cry, that would be cool.

Well... it's not Guillermo, is it?

But I suppose they are trying to make up for that by overcompensating on it's adherence to the source material.

The only way you're gonna be at all relevant by remaking/rebooting a perfectly good cbm is by being even more faithful to the comics than the original movie.
And this really does look like they are actually doing that.

Y'know apart from the fact that Broom's alive when he really shouldn't be and the fact that Hellboy, Daimo and even Alice Monaghan all work for the BPRD, when none of them were working for the BPRD in the comics during this story arc (Alice never ever even worked for them at all).

It's all irrelevant, though. Any movie released in April is gonna seriously underperform due to everyone staying at home and doing an MCU marathon.

Didn't they know that?

I feel sorry for Shazam, too. That actually looks alright.

For me Hellboy 3 can’t happen without Selma Blair and sadly her health has stopped her from returning and I don’t wanna see Rons Hellboy with someone else as Liz because Ron and Selma has such great chemistry together.
Get well soon Selma.
This version of Hellboy just hasnt grabbed me. Only the shot of Hellboy with the sword and flaming horns grabs my attention.
