HALLOWEEN SDCC Poster Finds Michael Myers Ready To Get Back To Doing What He Does Best

The movie's official Twitter account has debuted a stunning new poster for the upcoming Halloween revival, featuring "The Shape" (Nick Castle) looking more than ready to revisit his reign of terror over Haddonfield.

In related news, director David Gordon Green has revealed that the script went through 80 drafts, and some of them did incorporate the various sequels to John Carpenter's original.

"We started incorporating all the follow-ups and then it got overwhelming trying to engineer something that made sense," Green explained during an interview with THR. "Some of the plot points became a little stretched thin as the franchise went on. And so ultimately finding those frustrations, [Danny] McBride came to me and just said, “What’s the Michael Myers movie that you really want to see?” Halloween 1 was, to me, the most pure and, in a lot of ways, the most simple. I get the real connection with the terror of a movie that isn’t so lost in its own mythology.”

How do you guys feel about this Halloween movie ditching the sequels? Do you think they should have kept the events of Halloween 2 canon, at least? Let us know in the usual place.

@Demba - This movie will turn out fine, they are going about it the right way and actually care about the source material as well as respect it.

I LOVE it! It has this dramatic old school vibe and it's my fave horror movie, even though I don't think it's the scariest. MM is still the GOAT to me :)

I actually like how they're ditching the sequels. It allows them to tell their story without having to worry about the events that changed who the character became after the first 3 imo.

Either way I'm hyped to see Lori back to take names and kick ass. RIP Mr. Loomis!

I don't love that they've ignored all the pervious films but I get it. & it's nice to hear that they at least were trying to incorporate them originally. They seem to really understand & love this character & the franchise (the original film at least). Can't wait to see what they do with it. I just hope they remember to keep it simple & don't try to do too much gore. The original had almost none & it was perfect, not to mention perfectly scary.

@TyrantBossMedia - you're wrong, and that article is from a year ago. It ignores all movies except the first, the filmmakers have all said this. In the trailer it said he only killed 3 babysitters, his 3 teenage victims before being caught that night. He was blown up at the end of Halloween 2. This new one they are not siblings, which was revealed in H2, the trailer makes it a point to highlight that.
