IT: New Look At Pennywise The Clown Is Almost Guaranteed To Give You Nightmares Tonight

Two new stills from the upcoming big screen take on Stephen King's It have been revealed and they both offer a terrifying new look at Pennywise the Clown. If you have coulrophobia, turn away now...

The Dark Tower hasn't fared particularly well with critics or at the domestic box office so fans of Stephen King are now hoping that the upcoming It reboot will perform a little better. While the latest trailer for the movie showed off your typical jump scare horror movie, the signs are definitely pointing to this doing the book justice and there's no denying that Pennywise the Clown looks truly terrifying!

He's spotlighted in these two images from the latest issue of Empire. The clown looks demonic and is particularly sinister in the second image as he takes aim at Jack, a member of the Losers Club.

Providing It is a hit when it's released a little later this year, the plan is for a sequel to pick up with the cast of youngsters when they're adults. Whether or not that means Pennywise will be recast is unclear but chances are he won't be as that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense! What do you guys think of this new look at the creepy clown? As always, share your thoughts in the comments section below.

actually jump scares looks kinda original here (that baloon scene)

my problem with this is that Pennywise in some scenes looks intimidating, in some scenes not so much.

Hopefully its better than the dark tower, that one barley skid by and no one I know went to see it so hopefully after disappointed viewers with brains tell their friends to save their moneys we can get the actual DT done as a big budget tv series.

cause seriously, compared to GoT, TDT is kinda a joke.

@Re1Agent - They should sell the rights to Warner Bros. If IT is as good as these trailers suggest, they could start their own Stephen King Cinematic Universe.

@knocturnalzen10 - I agree. All the criticism that first image got, I have no clue what they were talking about. He has terrified me from the first moment I saw him.

Im still not sure how I feel on this clown design... It's scary don't get me wrong. But Curry's clown wasn't TRYING to be scary, except when IT wanted to be. But something about the original It not being outright scary looking, made it scarier. Sounds kind of dumb I guess. This movie still has my interest for sure. Totally seeing this in theaters.

@Kman - Um, yes, Curry was trying to being scary. I don't even know how you could argue otherwise.

@RockNRollFrankenstein - I'm talking purely design of the clown... not acting. Of course, Tim Curry was trying to act scary.
