Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures still game for EVIL DEAD Remake?

The remake we ALL knew was more than likely to happen

the one that we all probably don’t want the most of any horror series out there, the one that would ultimately have someone else dawn the chainsaw as Ash beside Bruce Campbell, The EVIL DEAD remake looks to be developed by Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures...

Producer Robert Tapert, and lifelong friend of Sam Raimi, has spoken with Freep.com about his career, various projects he’s working on now, and shined some light on the EVIL DEAD remake. "It's possible; we're looking at a script this month" Tapert said.

"What's interesting about 'Evil Dead' is very few people saw it in the format we made it for, which is for the theater. ... I think Sam wants to embrace the ultimate experience in grueling terror and see it remade for a proper theatrical experience."

Hold on to your boomsticks everyone, this looks to be a road we’ll all sadly have to go down together.

Dude this isn't a remake of Dead by Dawn (which has the character of Ash we all know and love) this is a basic remake of Evil Dead, the horror one. It's going to be teenagers in a cabin with deadites but thats where the similarity's will end, they have brought this up before they dont want to upset the fans.

it would ultimately happen. i don't mind as long as raimi directs it and campbell has a role. although i would prefer a 4th installment.

You know, with out Bruce Cambell, I couldnt care less if they remake or reboot it. The movies are not good, its Bruces character, Ash, that makes the movie entertaining. Without Bruce as Ash, there is no Evil Dead or Army of Darkness, just a steaming pile of B budget crap. NO REBOOT, continuation. His character can still be played by him. Ash doesnt need to be some 19 year old teenie bopper. Continue the story with him as an older man. Its his one liners, facial expressions, and sarcasm that make these movies worth watching.
