In just a few short weeks, Legendary will launch the epic second chapter in their burgeoning MonsterVerse with Jordan Vogt-RobertsKong: Skull Island, a film that should firmly re-establish King Kong as one of cinema's greatest monsters.

In other news, it appears as though Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) will not reprise her role as Mason Weaver in 2020's Godzilla vs. Kong. On the recent press tour for her upcoming film, she shared the news with Nuke The Fridge with a simple "No, I"m not" when asked about her potential involvement. This probably shouldn't come as a huge surprise as Skull Island takes place in 1973 and the crossover movie will likely take place in present day.

Check out fifty-five magnificent new hi-resolution stills below:

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, BUT J. K. Simmons was originally cast for the role now portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Keaton originally had the role that went to John C. Reilly (the WWII vet).

God, I can't handle armchair box office analysts. Just enjoy movies or don't for God's sake. Box office numbers have no bearing on a films quality.
This movie looks awesome.

If this movie is a success, which i've loved every thing i've seen from it, Jordan Vogt Roberts is going to be sought out for more big projects. He's under "Rumored" for a Metal Gear Solid film, so he is starting to branch out his genres already.

This movie looks absolutely gorgeous as well. Thanks Larry Fong, what a genius in cinematography.
