Werewolf by Night took us to a particularly creepy corner of the MCU where monster hunters were assembled to track down a terrifying creature. That beast, however, ended up being Ted, a.k.a. Man-Thing.
The truth was that he wasn't bad at all, with the Bloodstone forcing the gentle monster into a near uncontrollable rage. Jack Russell was able to help his friend and eventually freed him from captivity. Fans have fallen in love with the heroic comic book character, with the hope being that he'll return sooner rather than later.
In the closing moments of Werewolf by Night, we saw that Man-Thing had helped his friend, sheltering Jack after his transformation. They agreed to go for sushi in a scene it's since been revealed was meant to be a post-credits stinger!
"[That final campfire scene is] in the [same] Spirit [as a normal post-credits scene]," executive producer Brian Gay tells The Direct. "We wanted to put, you know, a nice, I guess, button on the end of the special in a way to have it. But with this, we want it to be a contained story. And so anytime that there's, you know, a tag, it's always what's next, what's going on for these characters."
"[The Werewolf and Man-Thing] don't know what's happening next," he continued. "They barely made it through this night alive."
Fans have made it clear they would like Jack and Ted's stories to carry on beyond this introduction, but only time will tell what the future holds in store for them both in the MCU.
"A Halloween horror delight, Werewolf by Night is a mighty impressive, macabre Marvel monster tale that introduces some killer new characters and proves Marvel Studios can still find plenty of ways to surprise us," we said in our review of the Marvel Studios Special Presentation. "More Man-Thing is a must!"
