MTV News caught up with the actor Aaron Eckhart, who is promoting his new movie The Rum Diary. He opened up about the next film on his dance card, I, Frankenstein. According to him, the movie will be more modern and his monster won't be stiff, lumbering around like the Frankenstein Monsters that most people are used to seeing.

"Well, I'm going to be Frankenstein, which I never thought that sentence existed. I'm going to shoot that next year in Australia. I have no idea what I'm going to do," he admitted. "I'm reading Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein' right now, I'm quite impressed by his intellect and depth of feeling, so it will be interesting to explore."

"It's more of an action take on Frankenstein, it's not a comic book, but there's a lot of fighting in it so we'll see. I'm looking forward to it, I get to learn some new stuff."

I, Frankenstein is a modern take on the Mary Shelley tale, and it will star Aaron Eckhart as Adam Frankenstein. Adam survives to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. He makes his way to a Gothic and dark metropolis. He soon finds himself caught in an all-out centuries old war, between two immortal clans.

Godzillafart- There is no doctor. At least not at first in the comics. Never got that far, really. He'll play Frank Stein, a private eye in a futuristic world filled with freaks where he's just considered one of them instead of hunted by villagers with torches and pitch forks. He basically is the Frankenstein monster that genetically outgrew the era he was built in. Which [frick]ING cool :))

I hope he meant that there won't be as much action as there would be in a "superhero" comic book film. Hopefully, he read the comic AS WELL AS the script.

The comic was like Sin City. And Frank Stein in it was like a mixture of Hartigan and Marv.

Wow isn't Mary Shelly Required in alot of High school and English Lit Classes in College. Not to mention Just being curious as an actor ...cant believe the guy had never read Mary Shelly until he got the JOB. Ricky Gervias is right. Actors are worthless.
