The following are my opinions only. I don't expect people to base their decision to watch the movie just because of this article.

No doubt that I have been waiting to watch this sequel. When this film hit the Philippines this Friday, I was one of many who marched to the theaters to see Iron Man kick some ass.

You know a movie it’s a big movie when it’s able to get three cinemas out of four in a big Mall. These are my opinions seeing Iron Man 2.

Iron Man 2

The movie was definitely enjoyable. But it does have its imperfections. I think the pace was incredibly slow unlike the first one. There were scenes that I think should have been really tweaked because it certainly didn’t make the movie better by having a five minute conversation about a bird. The worst thing that killed me a little was they cut the “You complete me scene.” And went with another scene of iron man waiting for the carrier door to open. (That was my favorite scene in the trailers.)

Robert Downey Jr.

I love this guy. You can’t really put a candle next to him. And though he still exhibited a great performance, I just really think they gave him too much freedom with his lines. He was the only person talking in his own speed. It’s just getting old you know.

Don Cheadle

The best thing that I saw Rhodey do was ranting with RDJ on who’s the bigger gun right before the big battle scene. But sadly, you’ll only see so little of this guy because his screen time was short. I think that is why I couldn’t see their chemistry together. I’m not going to say that his portrayal of Rhodes was bad, but I can’t really call it good either.

Sam Rockwell

All I can say is for a guy with his caliber, his role as Justin Hammer was beneath him. The scene with him scolding and Rourke could have been better he was shouting or screaming. I just really wish they didn’t hype him up so bad.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Now I didn’t really care for this actress. Her role in the first movie wasn’t half bad. In this movie she’s basically good for………….nothing. That’s right! I personally think that her sole purpose to be there was for Tony to stick his tongue in.

Samuel L. Jackson

The first time I saw this guy in the after credits, I giggled like a little girl. Not because I swing that way but because this was the first hint of the upcoming Avenger movie. The thing is… they shouldn’t give this character a lot of lines. But when he stated talking with Stark the whole bad ass image disappeared. I was a little disappointed.

And now, the best parts of the movie…

Scarlett Johansson

Although I think she should have only dawn her costume in the last part of the movie and although I think she didn’t seem like a hardened secret spy. I think that her fight scenes were the show stopper in this one. It was so freaking awesome what they had done in the choreography. The scene were she took Happy to school was by far the funniest.

Mickey Rourke

If you ask me who the best actor in this movie was; I have to tell you flat out that it’s Mickey Rourke in his role a Ivan Vanko. The way his body speaks was even better than his lines. He’s probably one of the best villains I’ve seen in comic book movie world.

Nods and after credits

Thor

Most of you already know the after credit scene by now. What you don’t know is that it is actually a flashback. In the Scene with Stark and Agent Coulson: The agent tells Stark the reason why he hasn’t been around is because he was busy doing other stuff. He then tells Stark that he was reassigned to New Mexico.

Captain America

Cap won’t be in this one but his shield will. Right after Agent Coulson tells Stark that he has been reassigned; he turns around and picks up an unfinished model of Cap’s shield. He then Asks “Do you know what this is?” Because I was so fixated with the shield, I didn’t know if his question was curious or incredulous. Anyway, Stark jams the thing under his experiment. What caught my attention was Agent Coulson Told tony before he went off was “Good luck. We need you.” I wonder why.

Hulk

Now I don’t think anyone else caught this, but there is a big nod to Hulk in this movie. Right after the roof scene with Tony, Pepper and Rhodes, the scene changes into the room where Stark and Fury are talking. You’ll immediately see a TV or computer screen showing you the report of the battle of Pulver University. I went to watch Incredible Hulk at home and confirmed this.

My question is what could be the reason Shield is forming a team? Could there be a threat happening or is something real bad is about to happen.

Nice review, I agree about the pacing and some scens didn't work. But that wasn't Cap's shield. Coulson doesn't say "Do you know what this is" he says "Whats this doing here?" Its an in joke, nothing more. If that lump of plastic has anything to do with Cap's shield in The First Avenger I will eat Teabag's hat!

Lee, how do you know, you haven't seen it! SAm is actually pretty good in it he just hasn't got enough to do and the dialog they give him is crap.
