Iron Man 2: Easter Egg Revealed!

Do you know? Here in Italy we work a lot for making scoops. But well, we're not in Hollywood and it's hard to making scoops.

Rarely, it happens - for some reason - that we get a scoop and we're happy to share with our friends in all the world. So, in the website where I write, we have learned that, after the credits of Iron Man 2, there will be...An Easter egg like in the first one!

I know, I write in a bad English, so I report the "translate" of /Film ():

Warning: Unconfirmed Spoiler Ahead!

"A 100% trusted source (NOT from the production/distribution, but very familiar with the movie) confirmed us today that there will be an easter egg in IM2. It’s an extra scene, just like the one in the first movie, after the end credits. We are able to tell you what’s about! It’s a scene about… Captain America and Thor! Maybe this doesn’t seem a big reveal, but it’s nice to have a confirmation."

Yes, a scene involved Captain America and Thor! Well you know...It's almost impossible they shot a sequence with Chris Evans, but with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, yes. I suppose there is a sequence with Iron Man, Thor and Nick Fury together discussing Avengers Initiative and they talked about Captain America. Now it's the only idea I have.

But I remember also that Oliva Munn has say her role was reshoots and she will play a Marvel character...And if she will be in the after credits sequence as Wasp? Or Scarlet Witch? Ms. Marvel? Or a simple SHIELD agent?

We will learn the truth very very soon!

Hmmm - interesting...if true!

Probably some SHIELD guy asking Stark if he knows how to defrost 65 year old meat and whether it is still fresh or not.

Can you reheat?? Or is it like prawns - cos, you know, even if you have cooked them before hand you shouldn't really reheat. They're a nightmare!!!

oh man! i hope this is true. they might not be able to show Chris Evans as Cap...BUT, they could show him frozen in a block of ice, that way they don't have to show his face!!

how cool would it be if, after the credits, Fury introduces Stark to Thor, and they're standing around the big chunk of ice with Cap inside???

i've been saying that if there's a Cap cameo in IM2, then he would have to be encased in ice, so hey, maybe i was right?? stranger things have happened, lol.

I am guess I am alone on this one but I don't want too many BIG hints.

Just a subtle reference. Something for us fan boys to notice. Just a passing off hand remark but establishes what direction we're going in.

It would build the anticipation sooo much better.
ViperXX79
ViperXX79 - 4/14/2010, 5:52 AM
I disagree. They want a big hint so more then just the fanboys will know to go see the other Marvel movies.
Orphix
Orphix - 4/14/2010, 5:59 AM
Viper@ I hear what ya saying. But I think non-fanboys won't really worry about that sort of thing whether it is there or not.

A big advertsing campaign and some big stars are gonna bring the large numbers of people.

Plus I think subtle hints could work for non-fanboys too. Anything that creates unanswered questions in the audiences mind might pique the interest of some. And get the excitment of tying it altogether.

@ orphix

i don't know, i think in this case it would be necessary. the next two Marvel movies are Cap and Thor. i think it'll be a little harder to sell the idea of Thor to the general audience. so having him appear at the end of Iron Man 2, a movie that EVERYONE will see, and showing that Thor and Iron Man exist in the same world, will be a good way to gain the interest of the general public for the Thor movie.
IRONRED

I imagine a scene were IronMan is flying around S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, he lands and meet Nick Fury ...

They walk together into the station talking about the initiative. Fury ask to Tony if he has check the candidates folders,

Tony answer: "are you talking about that crazy european guy?? the one who thinks he is some kind of a God??? He is Nuts!!!"

And finally they get into a big office with big TV screens on it ... Nick points at them and seys: "Oh Tony ... you should spend less time with hot girls ans Tequila ... you won't believe what we found"

The camera shows the screens, and we see a big ice cube with some red, white and blue man inside ...and .... BLACK SCREEN!

Orphix - 4/14/2010, 7:43 AM
CDB@ Yeah - I know what you and Viper are saying and it makes a lot of sense.

I guess I don't want to see Thor or Cap properly until their movies come out. I trust the IM2 guys tho. I guess however they do it will be classy.

I don't think I want Thor at the end of IM2, unless it's a vague reference like blurred mobile phone footage shown to Stark. I don't want my first glimpse of Thor to be him just standing next to a block of ice shooting the sh*t with Stark & Fury. I want a gradual build. However, Cap in ice, slowly thawing would be very cool.

Nice find! We all kinda figured something would be included. Nice to maybe have an idea!
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 4/14/2010, 10:20 AM
@ michaelsix

it doesn't have to be them standing around shooting the shit. Fury could introduce Stark to Thor, and when he does, Thor could come floating down from the sky, all slow and dramatic, with lightning popping all around him. they could make it look awesome! and what a good way to show off Thor's costume for the first time! it would be a jaw-dropper!

Easter eggs are great.

I remmeber a Jon Favreau interview last year where he says he has the Fans in mind when he includes stuff only the CB fans get.

BUT:
The movies are business, and not intended ONLY ton us fanboys, so, as VIPER said, GENERAL PUBLIC knows what´s coming.

I think it was A HUGE MISTAKE to put that SLJ´s Fury scene at the very end of the credits, i mean, i missed it. I knew about it later here in CBM (of course!), but ONLY SAW IT on the dvd!!!

Then, imagine general people waiting with their kids, girlfriend or whatever about 15 minutes of nothing but written credits on the cinema..in my opinion it is not a wise move.
Bomblu
Bomblu - 4/14/2010, 10:28 AM
OR they could end the movie with a teaser trailer for the thor movie... but we all know thats not going to happen :P What would be funny yet random would be stark going into his house like in the first move, yet to find a big red and blue freezer with

Please defrost :)

- Fury

on a sticky note.

*Then* cometh the black screen :P

HelaGood - 4/14/2010, 10:36 AM
i pray to god that olivia is NOT anyone but some throw-away character. she better not be an avengers character or heads will roll! shes a complete waste of space!

they may just mention thor or caps in the after scene. i doubt we will see either of them in IM2.

but i love CornDog's idea about a thor introduction. that would rock!!!

@SirJediFrank directors have been doing this for years! one of the biggest people to use this after-the-credits bonus scene was john hughes. and more recently we saw it used in IM and in the last pirates of the caribbean movie. its a great vehicle. and after IM opened, it was blasted everywhere that there was an additional scene after the credits, so you may have been sleeping under a rock to miss it.

@ hela

don't forget the old Masters of the Universe movie. after the credits, it showed Skeletor's face and he said something like, "I'll get you next time He-Man."

lol, that was the first time i remember seeing anything like that

Ericks: jaja claro!! y tu? al América? NO MANCHES!! JAJA

HelaGood_ lol! well, not asleep because i left the theater in the opening week, then knew about the extra scene, but i never had the time to see IM again in the theaters.. so i had to see it waaay later on the dvd.

It was different with WOLVERINE ORIGINS, becasuse i knew about it BEFORE i went to see it..

..but anyway my point is right: only me and a couple of other people STAYED until the very end of the creditsm ONLY TO SEE FREAKIN´LOGAN IN A BAR!! .. ( yeah yeah it was a Japanese bar-Japan story great great, BUT THE 90% OF THE GENERAL PUPLIV MISSED IT ANYWAY!!)

I think someone is just stating the obvious here. The majority of us expect some kind of tag at the end of IM2, so it's easy to play those odds and just say that's the case. As for the content, it's highly doubtful that Cap would show up with Thor at the end when he's not even being introduced yet. Marvel placed the Cap and Avengers movies together for a reason. They're not going to jump the gun for a 60 second tease. I would think, if anything, that they would lead in to the Thor movie specifically with the tag. Someone's just blowing hot air.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 4/14/2010, 12:27 PM
@ geeksexy

they didn't place the Cap and Avengers movies together. Thor and Cap come out next summer. Avengers is the only one announced thats coming out in 2012.

and like i said, Cap can have a cameo without showing his face or anything, it could just be him frozen in a block of ice...
