It will most likely go up too I'd say. I was a bit disappointed with it but its still great. Those other movies are pretty spot on too..although I would have Kick ass higher. I just watched The Losers. Wasn't quite as bad as I expected but pretty meh.

Not bad. Rottentomatoes is pretty damn tough. Gotta say I agree that Kick-Ass should be higher, though.

I'm glad the original Iron Man trumped Avatar...because Avatar is really the most unoriginal poorly written piece of garbage that I've seen in a while.

I still can't believe I've not see IM2 yet, it's out and I was meaning to go opening daybut something came up..so tomorrow it is :)

Looks like you were right @Ror. Between Brent posting this article and now, IM2 has already gone up to 75%. Good call.

Only another six days until I can see IM2. I hope the wait will be worth it. Though alot of reviews would have me believe otherwize, i'm not too convinced that this movie will be that amazing.

If it isn't, then at least I have a good list of other films to pass the time during the summer (The Last Airbender, Expendables, etc.)

average scores don't mean much until after release date. i mostly just read the critics i agree with. i don't care about ratings for marvel movies though. i will support any movie marvel makes on their own.

Harry Knowles also liked GI Joe. I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth. If the studio sends him free shit he likes their movies. In fact the only critic over at AICN worth a damn imo is Massawrym.

Even as an Iron Man fan, 74% is low and not much to be proud at. I think the final number will be at around 80% once you get the big rush of reviews, but its still a step down from the high praise received by TDK and the first movie.

Still, looking forward to the movie and cant wait to see it.

Wow! Imo, 74% is kind of low. I hope you're right about it going up, Ror.

well i tend to follow rottentomatoes a lot and the majority of the time the percentage drops upon full release. Rarely do i see ratings go up. so the ratings are kinda bad considering the first did so well. My guess is that the final percentage will be somewhere in the 60s. it'll still make loads of cash but the reviews wont be great.

Check out the Rotten Tomatoes site. Most of the reviews aren't that bad but are comparing it to the original. The consensus is pretty much that there was more substance to the first, but that IM2 is still a lot of fun at the movies. Other reviewers felt as though they were building up too much for Avengers. Anyway, 74% isn't all that bad.

@ryden: I agree about Avatar. It's Disney's Pocahontas without the songs or an Australian actor that can actually hold an American accent (Mel Gibson). I can already see Worthington floating along the tide of obscurity.

Most of the complaints I hear from IM2 is that it tries to balance a lot of story. I think it's really a film meant more for the fans that understand where the IM franchise is trying to go, both with its own narrative and with the Marvel Universe. Whatever the case, I know where my ass will be firmly planted come Friday.

i think marvel is going about this in a wrong way, they are trying to mix all these movies up way to much and they are throwing unnecessary scenes into the movie that just come out of left field. This would work with tv series because you have a ton of episodes to fill each season but with movies theres only so much time you can devote to this extra stuff that doesnt really add to the current plot. I preferred it when youd see Cap's shield in the background but it didnt enter into any conversion because there was no point.

I think I'm gonna love this thing no matter what the reviews are like. Even if the movie has some faults I will probably be blinded by all the awesome Marvelly goodness, and be bonkers over it anyway.

i enjoyed kick ass more than ironman 2,ironman 2 just lacks something, some great ironman battle scenes though.
& i still buy it on blu-ray when it comes out just to make my countdown to the avengers that little bit more complete.
hope they decide to do black widow & war machine spin of movies.
there isn't any decent female comic book movies out their we need one desprately.
so bring on powergirl, black widow & wonder woman movies now.

Who would have thought 15 yrs. ago that Marvel would not only make an Iron Man movie, but try to bring the entire M Universe to the big screen, and people would bitch about it not being perfect! Now I respect everyone's opinions but no matter what they did wrong in IM2 it sure beats no Iron Man 2 or having them whore out the name and give us something that doesnt even resemble the characters we grew up loving! Would you rather it have been more like War Zone or Borigins?

I'd say that it should be a little higher! Was it perfect? No. But it was still the best CBM ever in my opinion! :)

IM2 was a good film, I think it passes the first. The ending battle with Whiplash was stunning but short... And one thing that makes this film good, is that I noticed that every single actor in this film, actually performed there roles to perfection. I don't remember when the last time a cast did that together. But, I guess that's why I noticed that cause I watched the Russian bootleg. XD So, I had to focus on their facial performance.. If that makes sense?.. :P

I also found it funny that Sam Jackson and Scarlet had roles together again!! That probably was an embarrassing reunion from a shit film... (Spirit)

I always look at the RT community. Critics are almost always wrong and if a masses enjoyed the film then most likely I will. Im sure IM2 is going to rock everyones socks off! I got my IMAX tickets and ready for the midnight opening!!!!
