Iron Man 2 Rocketing to You in 3-D?

Paramount and Marvel Studios are considering it...

It's being reported that Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios are considering releasing Iron Man 2 in 3-D format, and possibly the first Iron Man as well. Here's an except from the article:

Right now, there is a 1 minute demo of IRON MAN 2 converted to high quality digital 3-D. I'm told this one minute is totally like Kim Basinger & Mickey Rourke in 9 1/2 WEEKS. HOT! Crazy Hot! Right now the Suits at Marvel & Paramount & now also Disney are considering this 1 minute.

At the same time that this is happening, they are fishing for bids with 3 different companies to see what the cost and time it would take to convert Iron Man 2 to a complete 3-D film. This same process is being done to Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

What will this mean for the rest of Marvel's slate leading to The Avengers? Will Thor and Captain America also go through this process? Or will they be shot from the get go in 3-D.

Iron Man 2 hits theaters on May 7, 2010.

If they have the money to spend on that, then they should sling it over to The First Avenger: Captain America or the Avengers instead.

well the newer 3D is pretty cool, it looks way different than it used to back in the day. i wouldn't to watch everything like that, but my bloody valentine was pretty funny to watch in 3D in the theatres.

Everyone needs to get used to 3D cause as the technology gets cheaper you'll be seeing more and more movies in 3D.

In no way does it take you out of the movie it does the opposite, brings you into a 3 dimensional world like our own.

There's no reason to cry about 3D since every movie is also released in 2D. It just gives the ones of us with 2 good eyes a more realistic movie to enjoy.

It's just a test phase. I can go either way on this but just don't jump to conclusions. Remember when harry said Bataman 3 will be shot in IMAX. No one knows for sure what is going on. Either way if they do it right and not like FD4 then I am down with it. I rather watch Mario Brothers Movie in 3D than watch TFD again.

heyVanity, probably not except for the fact that you might have to pay a little more at the BO. Those damn glasses are like three or four dollars extra.

But as far as how it looks, no it won't mess anything up.

lolol @LEEE777 3d isn't he future, its been around since like the 1940's.... It just gets really popular in random periods of time, and now is one of thoughs times....

Really if they do make it 3D, I really hope they don't f it up with a bunch of cheap vissual tricks like Tony flinging around a yoyo at the camera or somethin like that
