Alternate IRON MAN 3 Post Credit Scene Idea

Alternate IRON MAN 3 Post Credit Scene Idea

I thought that the end credit scene was great, but what if we got that Guardians of the Galaxy scene that we wanted?

For those who haven't seen Iron Man 3 yet, shame on you, but yes there is a SPOILER for the movie and end credits scene ahead.

Oh you're still here, good.
At the end of Iron Man 3, it is revealed to us that the narration through the entire film was actually Tony talking to his geeky green buddy, Bruce Banner, which was great because it didn't leave us thinking "hey, weren't Tony and Bruce good friends in the Avengers? Why didn't he mention him at all?" Well as great as (I thought) it was, here's my idea for how the end credit scene that we were hoping for, Tony and GotG, could've gone, but a little differently.

At the end of the credits, while still black, we hear something like this: "Help, this is Peter Quill and we have an emergency situation. Calling anyone available. Please. Help." It is staticky and on a loop. Fade into Tony, post Iron Man 3, possibly at Avengers tower, sweating, listening to this recording on a loop, while working on what looks to be a new suit. He mumbles to himself, "how do I power this d@mn thing?!" and begins to stress out. The recording is still looping and as the camera fades out we see the Mark 43, a deep space capable suit with the likeness of the Mark 42 prototype, half-built. As the scene cuts to black, it ends with the end of Peter's message; his last "help."

What do you guys think? It's a little underdeveloped and I think James Gunn or Joss Whedon could've contributed to it to make it epic (I'm not a director or writer haha), but I think the general idea could've been really cool.

DJRock out :)

Cool idea, would be cool if that was a post credits scene for Thor 2 or Captain America 2.

Sounds like a better execution than what most fans want it to be, so kudos for that! Nonetheless, I'm still against the idea of having Tony being somehow connected to the Guardians of the Galaxy, or whatever. I'd like my new Phase Two entries to be fresh and independent, and I don't see any good that Tony can bring to the team's debut, if not a muddled focus. That said, I'm already glad with what we've got in the final product, and us fanboys really need to get over the fact that sometimes, "less is more," indeed - not everything must lead up to something whatsoever. And it just makes sense, since there's nothing left for the movies to build up towards, as The Avengers is done, and the sequel is still a long way to go. Nonetheless, it's still a well-written scene, as I've mentioned before, so good job for that.

IM3 post credits scene was great. It showed that they have evolved into actual friends rather than being forced into being friends.

The IM3 post-credits scene was great, but for the start of phase 2? No. At the start of Phase 1 we got an introduction of Fury, and the first time "The Avengers" was mentioned on the big screen. This is a cool scene for the 2nd movie. Or 3rd. Or 4th. `

This is cool, but 1. I don't want Tony in GotG. I want to see what Marvel can do with these characters on their own... 2. This basically just defeats the purpose of the ending of the movie. He blows his suit to spend time with Pepper... 3. I don't see why fans want Tony to go in space. GotG won't be on the moon! It'll take decades to get to them! If Marvel was stupid enough to make Iron Man tie into GotG, than this is the best way to do it yet! Good job.

Thanks guys :)
I agree that I am glad that this scene didn't happen, Marvel did the right thing in leaving it solo except for the references and the Bruce inclusion, I like to think of it more as a branch off of the Avengers as opposed to being Iron Man 3; I personally loved the film.

I like it

@LibertadRodriguez
Its actually better to introduce Peter Quill to the mainstream audience now. They will be curious about Peter Quill. I'm guessing some might even look up the after credits scene on the internet.

The thing that Joss Whedon and Kevin Feige have said about Phase Two is that they are more worried about the character development. Now granted your post credit scene is good, but it is defeating the purpose of what they are doing with Phase Two. They want the characters to be fleshed out more than in Phase One.

Well a deep-space suit would need more power than Mark 2, and it would need to stay sustained. Tony's suits all have more features than Rhodey's so they need more power
