From the opening scene to the very last, the film entertains.
First of all, the acting is very solid. Lynn Collins steals the movie not only with her incredibly good looks, but more so with her acting skills!
She savors every line she speaks and responds to her fellow actors with realism and emotion.

Secondly, the CGI is amazing! I was not ONCE taken out of the story by distracting , bad CGI. Everything- and I mean everything-!, looked real and believable.

Thirdly, the story. You see master story-telling in this screenplay, trust me. This is not some banal sci-fi cliched yarn but rather an engaging and very emotionally visceral ride of sensation and mind.

Lastly, it's a very solid film! I think that's one of the best compliments a movie fan- especially a sci-fi geek like myself- can say of a film.
Solid from first to last...and the ending is unpredictable and very satisfying.

This is a GOOD STORY. A very well directed film by director Andrew Stanton who is now on my A-list of dirctors! He did a fabulous job handling the material , and the artistic aspects of the visuals.

Really good film and can't wait for #2!

But what say you of the actions sequences, HL?

What action scene's there were, were perfect. Like Return of the King battle scene's - it's just very emotional .

One in particular involving John as he's having a flash-back simultaneously to fuel his fury. I'm a guy -rub dirt in it, put a band-aid on a gusher, shake it off-kinda guy, and this scene got me! I gotta admit. It got me.

I just saw John Carter a few hours ago, and your spot on on your review. The movie was amazing from start to finish, and I never got bored once.

Ms. Collins, what can I say about her, she was lovely and her acting skills were better than ever. Taylor was great as John Carter and was very strong as the lead character.

That scene that you're talking about, I'm with ya', that got to me too. It was kinda heart wrenching to see something like that. But honestly, its a solid movie all around, and worth every cent.
