At this point, you don't need us to tell you that most of Zack Snyder's Justice League ended up on the cutting room floor, and while we're still no closer to to finding out whether the Snyder Cut will actually be released, the filmmaker continues teasing fans on Vero.
The latest image shared by the director takes us back into S.T.A.R. Labs, a location which was mostly just background noise in Joss Whedon's version of the DC Comics adaptation. Clearly, it was once set to be a much larger part of proceedings, with Dr. Silas Stone and Ryan Choi's (a character better known as The Atom in the comic books) spending some time working on unlocking the Mother Box.
That might have gone some way in further explaining what happened to Victor Stone after he was transformed into Cyborg, while also delving into what it was that made the Mother Box so dangerous.
Clearly, Whedon didn't feel like Justice League needed these scenes, hence why they ended up being cut. It's also become clear that backstory involving characters like Cyborg, Aquaman, and the Flash was deemed superfluous, but there's understandably a desire to see all of that in a true "Director's Cut" of the film (which may or may not end up on HBO Max depending who you believe).
Considering the fact Snyder had plans for Martian Manhunter, it's hard not to wonder whether we could have also seen The Atom somewhere down the line given Choi's inclusion in this scene.
