Justice League's cinematographer confirmed yesterday that the movie originally included Superman's black suit but that it - along with a number of other key scenes - were cut by Joss Whedon. That's because the filmmaker reshot nearly every single one of the Man of Steel's scenes and while many fans are furious that The Avengers helmer got rid of the black suit, it may not have been that great of a loss!
As you can see below, it's now been claimed that Henry Cavill's Superman wouldn't have actually donned the black suit and that it was simply going to be shown as being on display shortly after he's resurrected. That would have been a fun moment for fans of the comics but not overly satisfying.
After all, there was so much hype surrounding the possibility of the hero returning in that suit that a shot of it in a case would have been a let down and not exactly the same as Superman actually wearing it. It is, however, possible that we'll see this as a deleted scene on the Blu-ray because a shot of the character getting his suit back wouldn't shed too much light on what Snyder originally had planned.
