The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut hashtag gained a lot of traction today, with
Justice League stars Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck and director Zack Snyder himself lending their voices to the movement. This type of attention has led to speculation that Warner Bros. may finally be about to make some sort of official announcement relating to the fabled "Snyder Cut" of the movie, but, alas, that doesn't appear to be the case.
According to
THR's insiders, "no announcement is imminent." That doesn't mean that it won't happen at some point, but it looks like today's groundswell of support may simply have been an attempt to let the studio know how many passionate fans are chomping at the bit to find out what Snyder's original vision for these iconic DC heroes would have looked like before Joss Whedon stepped in to complete the film.
We'll just have to wait and see if WB responds. In the meantime, former President of DC Entertainment Diane Nelson Tweeted the following just a few minutes ago.
