As you no doubt already know, a fan petition demanding a Zack Snyder cut of Justice League has been doing the rounds for a couple of weeks now and it's gathered upwards of 150,000 signatures. Well, regardless of whether it's intended as a joke or someone is being deadly serious, a new petition has surfaced which asks Warner Bros. to release a Whedon-only version of the DC Comics adaptation.
So far, this petition has gathered only 42 signatures so chances are the studio won't be paying too much attention to it. Here's what this fan has to say about why they want Whedon's Justice League.
"Everyone who saw Justice league can attest to the sheer genius that Joss Whedon brought to the movie. If he had been allowed to bring his entire vision to the screen, the movie would have been that much better. Examples of his touches include 'Booya' as uttered by Cyborg and the now classic line 'My man' that has now become a battle cry by fishermen the world over after Aquaman showed he could speak to fish AND quip at the same time. Let’s make it happen. Join me and together we can see the rest of the moustachioed footage left on the cutting room floor."
So, yeah, they're clearly taking the p*ss and chances are "Thomas Martha" from "Atlantis, Florida" isn't a real person. The version of Justice League we got pretty much was a Joss Whedon movie as he reshot all of Superman's scenes, removed key moments, and significantly changed the layout of the story.
