JUSTICE LEAGUE: New Concept Art For Steppenwolf's Parademons Will Give You Nightmares

A new piece of Justice League concept art has been revealed which offers a startlingly different take on Steppenwolf's Parademons and as cool as this is, it's fair to say kids would have had nightmares!

While the design of Steppenwolf in Justice League has been a divisive topic among fans, the Parademons look like they've been torn straight from the pages of the comic books. They don't get a huge amount to do in the movie beyond being cannon fodder for the team, of course, but they play the role required of them in the movie and they definitely look pretty frightening for the most part.

However, as you can see from the concept art below by creature designer Jerad S.Marantz, the Parademons could have looked a whole lot more terrifying based on this very early take on the aliens.

Had they ended up looking like this, Justice
League obviously would have had a very different sort of aesthetic and the huge amount of VFX work necessary to bring these Parademons to life would no doubt have been staggering. What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

For some reason the parademons in bvs looked awesome but in justice league they did not feel quite as good.

Boy, that Steppenwolf was quite "forgettable", just no "stakes" at all. And oof, let's not even talk about those Parademons. They were just so disposable/absolute fodder.

They put a pair of chicken wings on its back and added more crumpled aluminum foil effect. Great.

I actually thought snyder had a right idea with the parademons, making them more like a flying swat team. Now they are just foddor.

All things considered, the more comicbooky design was probably the better choice, but really... they didn't really feel like anything. A lot like the Chitauri or the Sakaarans, there just wasn't much character to them.

Stormtroopers had little scenes that showed what Stormtroopers were when no one else was around. They'd say stuff like "Look sir, droids!" But what would a scene with two Parademons in a room have been like? I can't really imagine it.

Maybe because the Dark Elves looked so much like Stormtroopers, I give them a pass. I can sort of imagine two Dark Elves hanging out and shooting the shit together.

@Spock0Clock - Orcs is another good example. Cracking jokes every now and then. Throwing insults.

That sort of thing.
