KINGSMAN 3 Officially Announced With Matthew Vaughn Returning To Write & Direct; Lands 2019 Release Date

While the Disney deal may be looming, 20th Century Fox has officially set a 2019 release date for the third and final chapter in Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman trilogy, which he will return to write & direct.

Late yesterday, 20th Century Fox officially announced that Matthew Vaughn would return to write and direct the third and presumably final chapter in his Kingsman trilogy. The studio also dated the sequel for a prime November 9, 2019 release date.

Further details are unavailable at this point in time, but expect both Taron Egerton and Colin Firth to reprise their roles since Vaughn has previously described the series capper as "the conclusion of the Harry Hart/Eggsy relationship." Also, while unconfirmed, Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges are also rumored to return in some capacity.

Despite a mixed critical reception, Kingsman: The Golden Circle was still a major box office success, grossing over $410 million worldwide ($100M domestic; $310.6M foreign) on a relatively modest $104 million production budget. The franchise overall has grossed over $825 million worldwide.

The pending Disney deal, which will be finalized by the end of next summer, is not expected to have any serious bearing on the production of this film since cameras will likely get rolling during the first quarter of 2019.

This could also be affected by the Disney merge? I wasn’t aware of that.

Good nevertheless.

@MrCamw1 - "i was done with this series" dude... there was just two movies, how can you be done if we didn't have nothing new so you can ignore it, and yet, you are going to see the third?, doesn't make sense xD

The second movie was okay; it had some great moments but suffered from multiple issues, the biggest of which in my opinion was a terrible main villain. Let's hope, as others have said, that Vaughn learned his mistakes with the 2nd and returns with a great 3rd movie.

I loved the first, but after the second can’t imagine anyone wants more of this

I loved this one, I just wished that hadn't taken out roxy, it made no real narrative sense to me to off her just to affect Eggsy's emotions for all of one scene when he already loses one of his best friends who was at his house. If it was me I would have had her been hurt, maybe paralyzed from the waist down or losing a limb. Instead of just two Kingsman left you have three with one being crippled which IMO gives off a bigger feeling of them being broken team and you get to keep a character a lot of people cared about. Other than that I don't have as many issues other than when Matthew Vaughn said they didn't want to use trump as the president because they didn't want to get political when they clearly killed Obama in the first one with no issue. I just felt it was a bit hypocritical and kinda stupid to say that. Still gave the movie 7.7/10

given the talent that Matthew Vaughn possesses, this gets such an ugh for me. I really dug the first Kingsman, but the sequel was SUCH a disappointment, I really so badly want him to move onto something else entirely (even though obviously that ain't gonna be a Superman film, like I know the chatter was awhile back).

I thought Golden Circle was trash. I completely understand why Vaughn hates doing sequels, so I'm not sure why he's coming back for more Kingsmen films.

There best be a good story to to tell, otherwise this is an obvious cash grab. The first was possibly the only Matthew Vaughn directed movie that I unequivocally enjoyed through and through. This just doesn't feel inspired, but if it's a good movie it's a good movie.

I didn't even care for the first one that much, but I didn't really pay 100% attention to it. Didn't bother with the second one after reviews.
