Captain America and the Bastards brings together two very different universes in the ultimate “What If?” scenario.
What if Captain America crashed his plane and was retrieved by Lieutenant Aldo “The Apache” Raine’s Basterds? What if Captain America, after stopping the spread of Hydra, ultimately joined these Basterds with the help of his Howling Commandos?
In a connection unforeseen, especially by the fans who believe Steve Rogers’ “Captain America” would be incapable of heinous murder, this version of our Captain America embraces the violence of his brothers because the cost of freedom is too high not to. Steve is willing to bring The Apache his 100 scalps because that is what is necessary to bring down Adolf Hitler once and for all.
Captain America believes that the punishment comes after the crime. Well, for Hitler and his leading Nazi officials, the punishment has been decided. For Adolf Hitler, a bullet to the head is the only punishment worthy for such a disgusting monster, and Captain America borrows one of the Basterds’ machine guns to bring closure to World War II.
Will Captain America be reunited with his beloved Peggy? Will he remain the man she fell in love with? Or has the violence of the Basterds ultimately changed the core of our beloved hero?
Marvel Studios: What If will never embrace such a storyline, so it is up to fan-editors to bring life to these outrageous ideas.
