Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige dropped by to party with the Children of the Atom at the Hellfire Gala in this week's X-Men #21.
In a fun meta moment during the latest chapter in the Gala storyline, Feige approaches Cyclops and asks, "So, what's your story?" Summers proceeds to fill the Marvel head honcho in on the history of the X-Men and how they wound up in their current situation.
While it's best not to read too much into this (multiple celebs have appeared in the pages of Marvel Comics over the years), this meeting could serve as a nod to the X-Men's eventual MCU debut. Fans have been left wondering what Marvel Studios' plans are for the iconic mutant heroes are ever since Disney acquired the rights to the characters in 2019's Fox deal, but a few rumors aside, there's been no solid updates.
X-Men #21 marks Jonathan Hickman's final issue of this series, which picked up where House of X and Powers of X left off. He'll now move on to a new series called Inferno, which is expected to bring fans "revelations from the lives of Moira MacTaggert, Nimrod's revenge, vicious power plays, and more" when it hits shelves this September.
Did you guys pick up this issue? If so, what did you think?
