A QUIET PLACE Director John Krasinski Rumored To Have Taken A Virtual Meeting With Marvel Studios

Could we see John Krasinski direct or star (or both) in an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe project? Geeks Worldwide reports that the A Quiet Place filmmaker recently took a virtual meeting with Marvel Studios, and a "multitude of projects" were said to be discussed.

Krasinski and Kevin Feige both said that they'd like to work together in recent interviews after being asked about the huge swell of online support for the former Office actor to play Reed Richards in a Fantastic Four reboot, so if they did have a little chat, it wouldn't exactly be a massive surprise.

We have no way of knowing if the Mr. Fantastic role was even brought up, of course, but we do know that Krasinki is well aware that he's a strong fan-favorite choice for the part, and has admitted that he would be interesting in portraying the character.

Marvel has yet to officially announce that a Fantastic Four reboot is even close to entering development, but this wouldn't be the first time the studio settled on a cast member for a project that didn't have a full creative team in place.

There are plenty of other possibilities, of course, and this is very much a rumor for the time being. What do you guys think? Would you be on board with John Krasinski as Reed Richards? Let us know in the usual place.

@Tonic24k - Will be truly epic to bring such a great fan casting to reality.

@Tonic24k - I reckon if he gets the character, he has potential to develop it into his personality - he will fit in very well with the other main list MCU actors that transcend themselves with the characters personalities, just like Pratt, Downey Jr, and eventually Hemsworth have done.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - I agree man! Since he has diversified his film career beyond The Office, he's proven he can act beyond type casted roles.

A lot of fan-casts are shallow and based on who most resembles the comic book counterpart. But this one is just too perfect. I can see him checking all the boxes. And here's how I see his character experiences translate:

✅Silly charm and mocking sarcasm- The Office > The lab; nerdy environment with love interest amidst other character types
✅Logical but bold heroics - A Quiet Place > Space travel mishaps and later taking initiative in the face of danger
✅Level headed leadership and rise to action- Jack Ryan > voice of reason among varying, sometimes clashing, personalities

Have him be what Ben Affleck was going to be. First-ever main star and director for F4.

@MCUKnight11 - I think some of you are forgetting how taxing doing both can be especially with a giant studio thats ultimately in charge.

Krasinski has his YouTube talk show “Some Good News/SGN” and in yesterday’s episode he showed some fan art of him in a comic book. He joked “This is the closest I’ll ever come to playing a comic book hero” before mugging to the camera Halpert style.
