Men in Black III was a good idea in theory and despite an impressive haul of $642 million at the worldwide box office, the response from moviegoers was tepid and Sony Pictures decided to go back to the drawing board. Since then, we've heard that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones won't be returning, while the planned Jump Street mashup was put on hold because it all started getting too complicated.
However, that remains in development as does a spinoff from the writing team of Matt Holloway and Art Marcum (Iron Man, Transformers: The Last Knight). Absolutely nothing has been revealed about the movie but it does have a new release date. It was originally set to open on May 17th, 2019, opposite John Wick: Chapter Three. Now, it's going to debut on June 14th, that same year, instead.
Now, it's set to square off against the Shaft remake and it opens the week after Gambit and the week before Toy Story 4 (though it's hard to imagine that meeting that release date seeing as it's now undergoing a rewrite). Are you excited for the movie? Be sure to let us know your thoughts below.
