Activision has announced new plans to develop a new Men In Black video game. The game will be a standalone title, but will coincide with the theatrical release of Men In Black 3. So far there has been no news on whether or not the actors from the film will be involved with voicing the game, but as of right now the game is scheduled to be released some time in spring of 2012.

From Comingsoon.net:

Activision Publishing, Inc., in partnership with Columbia Pictures, today announced an all-new Men In Black video game, launching as a standalone title to coincide with the global theatrical release of Men in Black III in Spring 2012. True to the spirit of the franchise, the original title will feature action-packed, yet light-hearted gameplay mixed with edge-of-your-seat shooting excitement from the universe's most elite.

David Oxford, Executive Vice President of Activision Publishing, said "The 'Men in Black' franchise is an unbeatable starting point to deliver a genre-bending gaming experience with a level of production value on par with Hollywood." With Mark Caplan, Vice President of Licensing at Sony Pictures Entertainment echoing the excitement by saying, "With Activision bringing the 'Men in Black' universe to life on next gen consoles for the first time, the 'Men in Black' video game will be both familiar to fans, an exciting beginning for the uninitiated, and revolutionary for the franchise." As stated about the game is shooting for a release date of Spring of 2012 to go along with the movie release. There is also no word if this will be a follow up to the 1997 Men In Black game either. As soon as more details are available we will pass them along.

Truth is, Activison will frick it up. If it isn't Call of Duty, you can forget about it having any polish... even then you still have a few hiccups.

Men in Black has had quite a few games. One was a kind of Resident Evil detective/ horror game ,which I thought was neat, the rest are generally considered awful.

Regardless if it isn't based off of MIB III but is a standalone game, 90% of all games based off of movies just suck. I have yet to see a good game from a movie since Spider-man 2 on PS2

@hoodedjester I disagree. Major problem with games from movies is that, as Cannonball said, they don't take the time to make it a good game. They rush it to release it close to the movie.

If they started earlier, took their time, we could see really good games.
