Filmmakers pitch their version of Namor to Marvel!

Filmmakers create proof of concept for Namor the Submariner and ready to approach Marvel their version of Subby!

Looks like a group of Independent filmmakers have meticulously created a solid lookbook for Marvel's first anti-hero. After some poking around, I found that they've released (what looks to be) all of their promo images and a story/concept for Namor. Doesn't look like anyone's reported this on here yet, but let me know if I'm behind and missed an article!

They have a website up and running titled "Project Bluefish" that includes poster art, some BTS pics and info on their planned trilogy if it gets green lit! The about page includes mini bios; the Director has worked as a consultant on X-Men DOFP, the make up artist/costume designer worked on Tron: Legacy, MOS and is the son of the legendary Bernie Wrightson (co-creator of Swamp Thing) while the writer/actor has had stints on BET and tons of indie productions. They don't have any social media happening which makes me think maybe they're not exactly public with this yet, but the website is obviously not password protected and there's a press release on Newswire that says otherwise. I've reached out to them and am hoping to get some more insight on their project and what exactly it is they're doing. I embedded their video below and a link to their website for more of the images, what do you guys think?

Cool, definitely interesting.

I'm not sure if Marvel is ready for Namor yet though, they have a lot going on right now

Does Marvel have the rights? I thought Universal had Namor. Besides trying to do an Namor too close to Aquaman's debut might be seen as copying from those not aware of each character's differences, origins etc

Awesome! Great find! I really hope they get somewhere with this, but that actor would look better with short hair like Namor has it in the comics.

Naw! Passssss even though Namor was created first and he would be a awesome edition to the MCU it is way to close to Aquaman at this point!

I'd like to see what they do with this, very interesting stuff.

Namor will debut in the next Hulk flick, Marvel will get as much mileage as possible out of their next joint Universal project.

So much work for absolutely no pay-off. Marvel doesn't have the distribution rights, and even if they did, this is unsolicited material they would never touch.

Was the girl he was holding wearing clothes or naw?

@dethpillow

I still kind of get goosebumps just thinking about Marvel getting the Fantastic 4 rights back....

@YeezusWept, I can't tell and can't find any other shots with the girl! Can't imagine they'd have her nude though. @dethpillow, agreed with intro'ing him with FF, but I don't see that happening. Fox doesn't seem to be keen on letting them go. I've got a slew of ?'s for them if they get back to me. I personally dig the direction they would go, but the timing of this probably isn't the best with all the recent Aquaman stuff.

@HurricaneXavier

Definitely on all 3 counts, but I want the whole team though.... but, without a doubt, I want Galactus, Silver Surfer, and Doom

I think it would be cool to have Reed and the F4 come in, especially because Stark/RDJ will be on his way out, I think, after Infinitely Wars

I feel like it would be a perfect time for Fantastic 4 to step in

Haha, YES!!

Seriously, yes, that would be an insanely awesome way to introduce time travel in the MCU too....

I would be locked in from the beginning of that movie until the end

@dethpillow

I mean to introduce the negative zone in the MCU, you know what I mean, haha

That would be amazing, seriously

@dethpillow, yeah it's just the superficial aspect of it and the general audience drawing up those comparisons of them being Atlanteans. But you're right, it comes down to the story and if it's a strong one. Tonally, Namor and Aquaman are completely different.

@Irvinlr88

I honestly don't think Marvel has a chance at getting X-Men and Deadpool is included in that, I would love to see what a Marvel X-Men movie would look like though

As far as Fantastic 4, I think there's a chance.... We don't know how well the new F4 movie will perform at the box office, and with the Sony/Marvel shared deal, anything is possible. If Fox's Fantastic 4 underperforms, I feel like they might at least think about how much they could benefit from a shared rights deal....

And, if they start to think about it, that's a start

Alos, like Dethpillow was saying, I don't think they can crossover the properties, I have a feeling that wasn't part of the original deal

@dethpillow

Definitely, I totally agree, and I'm sure Kang will be in their plans down the line

I think Reed would be amazing in the MCU too, because he's that really smart/genius, that also is a really good guy

Stark is a genius, but you know his background as a war profiter, and he's Stark, etc

Banner is a genius, but he's the Hulk

Pym is a genius, but he's Pym, and he's guilt ridden and all messed up

Reed is a genius, and a family man, a humanitarian, and most of all, a nerd. What keeps Reed up, are things like not being able to solve world hunger, but he knows there's an answer, and he's sad that it's taking him so long to find it.

I want to see that in the MCU, that contrast
