Can Chris Columbus navigate his way around Namor, the Sub-Mariner movie?

Marvel Comics says it is seeking director Chris Columbus (Harry Potter, Home Alone) to direct Namor, according to Variety.

The Universal Pictures film would center on the amphibian prince of undersea Atlantis, one of Marvel’s oldest superhero characters. It’s due out in 2006.

The trade added that the Deathlok movie at Paramount is seeking directors.
