If done right it could make a pretty cool trilogy.

I sure hope they emphasize how it takes three clips to drop a person. Maybe even have some insane moon boot jumps that Master Cheif does.

Sarcasm aside, I don't think the movie can be done with Master Cheif (John). He's faceless, barely talks all that much. Plus, although Halo is well known, the whole aspect of Cortana's sarcasm and being 'in' Chief's helmet would be way to similar to Jarvis and Tony in the Iron Man movies.

If anything, make it like an actual war movie, not some 'one-man-army' thing. Have the Spartans, but don't focus the movie sorely on one Spartan. Think Black Hawk Down, but with Halo.

And no I'm not some CoD fanboy.

I think that this most likely won't happen; however, it would be cool if it did.

after seeing these adverts a halo movie could be fantastic with abit of money spent on them.

A halo movie would be awesome. And making it like a war movie about a specific marine platoon like band of brothers would be easier to get multiple films out of it. With Spartans making the odd cameo and having masterchief come in to save the day for a climatic battle.
Or having three separate films about three separate units covering aspects of a pivotal battle. Marine, ODST, Spartan units.
I just want to see a halo movie. And if it hasn't happened yet it probably won't happen.
