If there's one thing that moviegoers seem to be sick of, it's 3D. The higher ticket prices are a pain, but the ever increasing amount of poor quality post-converted movies is an even bigger problem. Since the release of the record breaking Avatar in 2009, studios have taken every opportunity they can to make even more money by offering up their releases in the format and Marvel Studios are unfortunately no different. Both THOR and Captain America: The First Avenger were released in 3D and neither wowed audiences despite a handful of scenes which benefited. Next year, it's the turn of Marvel's The Avengers 3D (as it's now officially called), but will you see it in 2D or 3D? Here's what you decided.

Considering just how unpopular 3D has become, it's a little surprising to see how many voters were seemingly pleased with the decision to release The Avengers in the format. Do you really think it will indeed help make the movie all the more epic? With promises from Joss Whedon that it, "isn't obnoxiously 3D," perhaps the results aren't all that surprising after all. Sound off with your thoughts below.

STARRING:

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Ramanoff/Black Widow
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
Tom Hiddleston as Loki

RELEASE DATE: April 27, 2012. (UK) May 4th, 2012. (US)

The only CBM I'm wanting to see in 3D next year is The Amazing Spider-Man. Unless I hear great things about the 3D for The Avengers, I'll try to catch a 2D screening.

Kudos, y'all. I was expecting a resounding "YES", but instead you made it clear you DON'T want that dark screen and uncomfortable glasses b.s. Thanks for giving me hope in humanity.

Don't care for 3d. I saw Thor that way and it actually pulled me away from the experience. So seeing Avengers in 2d.

I want my Avengers in 2D damn it. 3D brings nothing more to the experience. Soon the industry is gonna say " Hey we should make 4D movies with holograms" oh wait THAT'S BASICALLY BROADWAY.

Hey here's an idea? It's widely known that more then half of movie goers do not care for 3D. Why does the industry not see this.

Why not take that money wasted on the gamble of 3D or post conversion and use it to just generally make the movie better, which def has a higher percent of then being a better movie.

People who do like 3D keep going to these movies in hopes that " This one will have good 3D for sure" but I'm positive they are never satisfied.

You know what movie had good 3D? Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas. Why? Because they used it as the gimick it is and threw stuff at the screen to make it pop out like 3D is supposed to do.

I can't believe people on this site actually voted for 3. Losing hope in these fanboys. We should all be going out of our way to make an effort to see movies in 2D. This such a freaking gimmick that actually makes movies worse. I'm just frustrated lol. Anyways i'm seeing this in 2D.
