NOAH is a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from the coming flood. The screenplay was written by Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel and revised by Academy Award®-nominated screenwriter John Logan (GLADIATOR, HUGO). Scott Franklin and Aronofsky of Protozoa Pictures, along with Mary Parent of Disruption Entertainment, will produce the film. The film will be executive produced by Ari Handel (BLACK SWAN), Arnon Milchan of New Regency and Chris Brigham (INCEPTION, ARGO).

Noah is directed by Darren Aronofsky ("The Wrestler"), and stars Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Logan Lerman, Douglas Booth and Anthony Hopkins. It floods theaters March 28th, 2014.

"A close adaptation"?! Read the Biblical account and tell me just how close this is. Looks entertaining, but not the slightest bit accurate.

You want accurate, then you don't hire a guy whose every movie looks like it started with Aronofsky snorting some meth and then chasing it with a strip of LSD. Midway through his movies you realize he has tweaked out and that is usually where the mind-bending twists occur. Dude should be locked up in the puzzle factory, but that is what Hollywood is!

I'll probably see it, but please don't think this is accurate - that's all I'm saying.

Well, since it's a bible story, it's as factual as any fairy tale, so accuracy is irrelevant.

I'm really disappointed that it doesn't much resemble Aranofsky's graphic novel. Word is that the first test audience was a Jewish civic center, and they had major problems with all the aliens and spaceage tech. So the studio reshot it to remove anything offensive.
So if you really think this story was true, you're s ruined and a moron.

Religious people shouldn't be allowed to read comic books. They might mistake it for reality.

@rabid

Do you not see the irony in your comment? The reality is that much of the comic books you read are rooted in the metanarrative of the world's great religions. So what is fantasy to you, because you clearly don't know your religious history, carries elements of reality for someone else. Obviously comic books are works of fiction, but I am pretty sure Superman is as close to a Christ-like figure as you will find anywhere. I would hate to live in the closed minded box you call home, the world would be so boring.

Oxymoron of the day: "great religions" brought to you by LuckDragon.

So when this movie takes off, can we expect to see Adam & Eve: the Untold Tale in theaters?

I know my religious history extremely well. I'm just not dumb enough to mistake it for fact.
