ANNIHILATION Actress Gina Rodriguez To Star As CARMEN SANDIEGO In A New Netflix Live-Action Feature

Gina Rodriguez (Annihilation) was previously attached to voice Carmen Sandiego in a Netflix animated series, but now it's being reported that she'll actually play the character in a live-action adventure.

Last year, news broke that Gina Rodriguez (Annihilation, Jane the Virgin) had signed on to provide the voice of Carmen Sandiego in a Netflix animated series, but Deadline now reports that the actress will play the character in live action.

The streaming giant will produce a full-length feature based on the exploits of the globe-trotting criminal mastermind, who was first introduced in a "mystery exploration" show back in 1985 and has since been the focus, of video games, books, and a DC Comics series.

Rodriguez will also produce the film through her I Can and I Will productions alongside Kevin Misher and Caroline Fraser. No writer or director is attached to the project yet, but it's expected to debut on Netflix at some point next year.

She was okay. The script didn’t do her character any favors. She was much better in Deepwater Horizon.

I used to love playing the Carmen Sandiego games on Windows 95/98.

What a moment in Elementary school when we were all sitting around that old Apple with the floppy disks and we stumbled upon the proper combination to unlock the warrant for Carmen San Diego.

MCU fans who are drooling over Clauson returning will know those emotions.
