Are Sandman & Justice League Dark In Developmental Hell?

The Announced DC slate of movies had no Sandman or Del Toro's JLD no where to be found, could this be bad news for the Vertigo titles as movies?

At the WB Shareholder's meeting today, everyone and their mom walked out with a Comic Book Movie, from Green Lantern to Wonder Woman, HECK! Cyborg got his own solo movie, but now fans are asking, hey...What happen to th Sandman Movie? and where is my Guillermo Del Toro helmed Justice League Dark movie!? Well I have the answer!

As mentioned Sandman & JLD noteably absent from the 2016-2020 slate, but Del Toro has multiple times told us fans that the movie is going forward and is in development, many fans wondered if DC would dare to do a movie version of JLD with the Constantine tv series already promising that they already have John, Dr. Fate, The Specter & others for season 1 and if they get season 2 we get Swamp Thing & the JLD. Del Toro has stated that his movie based on the JLD & the Constantine Series is NOT connected but recent coments by Goyer support that BUT also make it clear that they have their own JLD on the show planned.

So which is it? are we Getting Goyer's Tv JLD or Guillermo's JLD movie? Where's the Sandman fit in all of this?  The answer is simple!

Guillermo recently (in the same interview where he explained that the movie is still indevelopment, assured no ties with the show & more) said that DC wants to keep the Justice League Dark & Sandman properties ASIDE from the DC slated movies as they do not share the same universe (for now), Until the properties from VERTIGO prove themself's worthy and franchise potential they will NOT join up with the DCCU helmed by The Justice League's Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman & Company.

So there we have it, FOR NOW JLD & Sandman are NOT part of the DCCU, their IS potential they could merge later on, but films ARE in development but NOT announced as none of the date's mentioned before belonged to them nor do they share relation for now.

For now be sure that Constantine will not stop Del Toro's JLD nor Sandman as neither film has been sacraficed that feed's the series Mystical needs, soon Del Toro or Joseph Gordon Levitt (whom is attached to Sandman) should speak out and clear it up for us better, but again rest assured that JLD (Guillermo's Movie Version) & Sandman ARE STILL coming!

This is kind of ironic. Some of Vertigo's comics used to always drift from taking place in the DCU to having their status questioned. So in a way, these Vertigo properties being on the sidelines incidentally mirrors how Vertigo's relation used to be with the larger DCU.

JLD is a lost cause. It has about as much of a chance as Hellboy 3. Sandman on the other hand, is in JGL's hands. It's still being written so give it a year or so.

They didn't mention any of the Vertigo properties in development. Also the showrunner of Constantine mentioned the movie so no neither are in development hell.

I have a bad feeling JL Dark will never happen.

I really don't think Sandman will be counted as a DC title, because it's really a Vertigo one. I personally hope it won't be made though. The reason why is, Sandman would work better on HBO. As for Justice League Dark, I see no reason that WB can't do three movies a year. We already know they plan on doing that with Batman & Superman, so why not for JLD too.

I just hope JLD will be made, so there's a chance a Shadowpact film can be made next.

It seems like JLD got benched, especially with the recent news drops that The Spectre, Swamp Thing, and Zatanna are likely to appear on Constantine. Sandman might be reworked into a TV Series or something, which would be better in my opinion.
