As many of you know, Ben Affleck is the new Batman. Many have speculated what this means for Batman and DC's Cinematic Universe. Can Ben Affleck direct a Batman movie while also playing the title character? He has directed films he starred in, Argo, for example, but Batman would be difficult for him to direct also, since he would be putting on the cowl. You may have heard from many actors who put on the rubber suit since Batman '89 that it is difficult to hear others. This might present a challenge for Ben Affleck when wearing the cowl, would it not?
The question remains, how can he direct a Batman film while also playing the Dark Knight himself? Is it possible to wear the Batsuit while directing a pivotal comic book movie? This question indeed concerns me, but I am sure Ben Affleck will find away around it.
Another thing that is on my mind is, how will the movie turn out if he does direct it? Well, given that he has directed three films and all of which have Oscar nominations, and then some, the visuals of the movie would be astounding and captivating. Imagine the camera angles, the visuals, the coloring, and the lighting in his previous films orchestrated in a fantastical cinema spectacular, with Batman punching and kicking and bruiting, frightening normal criminals and incouraging the insane to come out and play. I have to say Ben Affleck is a great choice for Batman, at least in the directing persona. Will he be the best Batman? We will not know until 2015, but I hope we all will be surprised.
