The internet defines a spoiler as “an element of a disseminated summary or description of any piece of fiction that reveals any plot elements which threaten to give away important details concerning the turn of events in story.”
So when is the the ideal time for the plot to no more be considered a spoiler. Cbms are not released worldwide on the same date for a number of reasons, the date difference ranges from a few weeks to about a month. About a week should be given after the last release date for it to be considered as a “non-spoiler(lack of a better word)”.
Here on cbm a movie can be spoiled in a number of ways like editorials, reviews, interviews, or the comments posted on particular articles concerning that movie. Generally reviews or editorials have a spoiler warning in the heading; the main problem comes when users post spoilers in the comments (by mistake or on purpose).
How to avoid spoilers:
Comments:
the comment section is where most of the movies are spoiled, so the best way to avoid a spoiler is to not look at the comments or briskly go through them. People start to talk about the “twist” of a movie in the comments after the movie is released in the USA. It is advisable to not read the comment section after this particular day.
Reviews:
Sometimes the reviewer forgets or does not think its necessary to put a spoiler warning. In such cases ,the first few comments include remarks like “thanks for the spoilers a**hole” or “put a spoiler warning”. So if you haven’t seen a movie and want to read the review it is always safe to check the first few comments for such remark.
These are a few ways I avoid spoilers. And I would like to request everybody to not spoil a movie without a spoiler warning. Thank you for reading.
