CONFIRMED: Luke Evans Exits THE CROW Reboot; Hunt For New Star Begins

The Hobbit and Dracula Untold star confirmed earlier today that he will more than likely not star in The Crow, but sources have now confirmed that he has departed the project and that director Corin Hardy will soon begin searching for a new leading man. Who? Read on for details.

The Wrap confirms that Luke Evans will NOT star in The Crow reboot. That's hardly a surprise after his comments earlier today, but the Dracula Untold actor did at least seem open to the idea of playing the character at some point in the distant future . Relativity won't be waiting for that though, as the remake of the cult classic is moving ahead without the busy Welsh actor.

Production hasn't been going well, with original director D. Javier Gutierrez departing to reboot The Ring franchise. It was then that Corin Hardy took over, but he's been busy finishing off working on The Hallow (which debuts at Sundance this week). This will give Hardy a chance to find his own leading man. Could he once again turn to Tom Hiddleston? The site mentions that he had an "impressive makeup test", but as he passed, it's hard to imagine they'll be able to convince him!

[frick] this PG-13, "dark/gritty/realistic/brutal," Marvel Studios fan appealing, assembly line produced, falsely advertised, piece of garbage.

Tom Hiddleston! I remember reading that he wanted the part. I believe that he applied his own makeup in an attempt to get the role.

people who hate this remake probably don't know that the movie is trying to be closer to graphic novel than the original movie ever was. So it's not even a remake technically.
I'm curious how this is gonna end up. Skull Cowboys scenes were cut from Brandon Lee movie. He should be in the new film. I was always wondering about this character.
Seems interesting one.

But to be honest - there are so many Crow stories to adapt, why focusing on Draven again ?

Why can't they just continue the story?

by the way ... Rob Zombie was once attached to direct or write ( can't remember) the next Crow movie. The story was about the boy who family was killed. He grow up and became bounty hunter.

No to a reboot, or remake. Just make a really good Crow film. I too agree it is time for a female crow, also a black female. The chick from Walking Dead "Michone".

To use the same story or characters of the original Crow would be a huge mistake. That film still stands today, it doesn't need to be redone or retouched. Do we need to reboot Scar Face?, Clockwork Orange?, Color Purple? Casino? No.

@Chaud
Halloween remake was uber trash. It was only good for the first 25 minutes.
Halloween 2 was way better (still nothing memorable though)

House of the 1000 and Devils Rejects are really good movies in my humble opinion.

The Crow died with Brandon Lee. Leave it like that.

Some things should be left alone. Namely The Crow franchise. Though really the first one was the only good one, remaking/rebooting this is just blasphemy.

Leave things like this alone. This would be like remaking/rebooting The Wizard Of Oz (and don't tell me that abortion starring Franco was an attempt).
