It was just a matter of time before Stan Lee's life made it to the big screen. Despite appearing in myriad Marvel movies, Lee's cinematic ventures were strictly cameos - however, audiences can expect to see "The Man's" life get its own movie in the near future as
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Twentieth Century Fox has bought Lee's life rights. Do not expect the film to be a biopic, as it is being developed as a period action-adventure movie with Stan as the main character. The film will be set in the 1970s and is described as being similar in vein to
Kingsman: The Secret Service and Roger Moore's James Bond films.
Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey (Twilight, The Maze Runner, and next year's Power Rangers) are set to produce the film with Stan Lee and Gil Champion, Lee's partner at POW! Entertainment, serving as executive producers. There are no writers attached yet, and THR adds that the project could still change as it further develops. Nonetheless, this is definitely an interesting route for a Stan Lee movie.
