The Marvel Cinematic Universe is going strong with no signs of slowing down. While the DC Cinematic Universe is finally taking off with the potential of being a true collectors item. The two respective cinematic universes could go on and on, but like anything in Hollywood sooner or later will get a reboot. So I got to thinking what would be a great ending to each universe. First' you must stay true to the tone that was set from the start. Second, try to be original and surprise your audience. Third, and most importantly do not try to satisfy everybody and ending up doing too much or not enough.

So lets start with Marvel and coming up with a ending that stays true to the family friendly sci-fi/fantasy tone set in Phase 1. Since the events in New York where the Avengers saved the world from a alien invasion, revealing themselves to the world, and the universe as well. It began in New York and it ends in New York as earth's mightiest heroes come together to determine the fate of the universe. The Avengers, X-Men, GOTG, Spiderman, Fantastic 4, and Dr. Strange band together to stop Thanos from erasing any and every life form throughout the universe. With our heroes obtaining the Heart of the Universe and getting a assist from Galactus are able to defeat Thanos. They soon realize that Galactus used them to obtain the Heart of the Universe, eliminate Thanos, and rule the universe. The Heart of the Universe gave Galactus the ability to survive without the need to feed on whole planets to survive. As they fear the end is near, they continue to fight with hope that maybe they will prevail and save the universe. The battle is won when Thanos returns showing Galactus the true power of The Heart of the Universe. Relieved that the threat is over for now but remain ever vigilant knowing that one day Thanos will emerge again to destroy life.

Alternate ending could be that thanks to the distraction caused by Ultron, Thanos collects the Infinity Gems that forge the Infinity Gauntlet giving him unlimited power. Our heroes fight even though their best efforts are meaningless. He uses the Infinity Gauntlet, making him nigh-omnipotent, and erases half the living things in the universe to prove his love to Death. One-by-one each hero fails to even slow down the Mad Titan.Warlock, who secretly assisted the Fantastic 4, by giving them the tech to fend off Galactus. Warlock reveals that Thanos has always allowed himself to be defeated because the Titan secretly knows he is not worthy of ultimate power. Thanos joins Warlock as part of the Infinity Watch, so the Infinity Gauntlet will not fall into the wrong hands. Several acts done by the Mad Titan soon are undone by Adam Warlock. All is back to normal and knowone has any memory of the events other than Warlock and Thanos.

With DC going with more of a darker tone, I would stick with that theme but not over depressing like Tim Burton's Batman. I am gonna give you the build up to the end, not just the ending. Darksied finally has the Anti-Life Equation in his grasp, and recreates the universe in his image. Earth becomes Apokolips 2 as its heroes fall to Darksied. The death of the Martian Manhunter caused decinsion amongst the league. With the big three feeling guilty, telling themselves they could have done more to save Jonn. Darksied manipulates and turns the heroes against one another. Oa is destroyed and the surviving lanterns relocate on planet Mojo the green lantern entity that is a living planet.

Darksied doesnt kill Superman but imprisons him in a red Sun-Eater on Apokolips 2 to witness the suffering first hand. Batman retreats to the darkness and is soon forgotten. While Wonder Woman battle her fellow sisters who fall under control of Darksied. Ares becomes a unlikely ally of Wonder Woman in these dark times. The Flash is a gladiator who fights for his life which amuses Darksied knowing in the end everyone will die. Green Lantern Hal Jordan leads the survuving lanterns against Sinestro who commands the remaining yellow, black, white, and red corps., who are all under the command of Darksied.

High Father leads the many who refuse to yield to Darksied. High Father becomes enraged when Orion is killed in a fight against Doomsday, who fist was coated in Radion thanks to Darksied. High Father gets leads a massive force to take the fight to Darksied from Apokolips 2, to outter space, and back to Apokolips in a epic battle to decide the fate of the universe. With lives being lost on both sides, knowone shows any signs of backing down. Batman defeats the Fury's and Granny Goodness then soon discovers the means to ending the war. Batman hands Flash a mother box and instructs him to free Superman with it. Batman makes his way to whats left to New Genesis. Wonder Woman fights her way thru Darksieds forces to take on Darksied. Thanks to Flash, Superman uses the boom tube to go tothe sun and recharge his weakened body. Darksied pounds High Father into the ground when Wonder Woman engages him putting up a good fight. She slams Darksied to the ground, so thinking this is his chance Ares tries to kill her but she evades his attack and get turned into ash by Darksied. He then shoots his Omega beams at Wonder Woman and her bracelets block the blast.

Batman appears from the boom tube and points a gun at Darksied, and before he could pull the trigger the Omega beams chage direction and puts a hole where his heart use to be. Superman arrives to see Batman fall which enrages Superman and a epic clash between the two rivals begins. Members from both sides stop fighting as they watch the two battle. The battle rages on as Superman builds momentum and as he spills the blood of Darksied, he gets stabbed by a kryptonite knife due to a counter attack by Darksied. He stands over Superman; eyes glowing red ready to finish the man of steel but eyes turn black as the life leave Darksieds body. He collaspes due to a Radion bullet shot by Batman from a distance. The Martian Man Hunter reveals that he was not dead just a ploy by Darksied. Superman is happy to see Batman as the two realize how much they need each other. In time things are restored and the Justice League truly becomes a league of heroes as the original six recruited the best heroes the universe had to offer. I also feel that the Anti-Monitor, The Endless, Braniac, or Imperiex could be used as the villian to help give the ending the cinematic universe deserves.

So these are my ideas to what I would love to see how it to end before a reboot. So share your ideas and opinions on what you think. Like I had to ask for your honest opinion, so make them your brutally honest opinions.

i did a ediorial on how i imagine the MCU ending with the battle against thanos. i imagine a huge battle both on earth and above it in space with GOTG and other galactic heroes lead by iron man fighting to stop the rest of the invasion fleet and cap and other heroes like the hulk trying to stop an invasion force in some random city.

the fleet seems to be destroyed and most of aliens are dead then suddlenly we go to odin who senses in asgard that it is not over. then a huge ship comes and crashes into earth where out heroes have followed it. then thanos emerges in dramatic fashion shows the gauntlet and makes all of the dead aliens rise and then procedes to destroy everything.

the hulk gets slammed to the ground then thrown into a building in the distance, nova and other heroes are killed. then we see the bifrost and odin, heimdall, sif the warriors 3 and maybe even loki arrive. odin explains that there is only one way to defeat thanos and it is by useing the tesseract (cos people are familiar with it). so they formulate a plan to distract thanos.

odin begins harnessing the power of the tesseract wich will also cost him his life. loki if killed by thanos followed by iron man, cap screams no then we see him confront thanos who laughes and start monolagueing then tosses cap to the side and breakes his shield. then odin does something involveing the tesseract to kill thanos then he dies, then there could be a service honouring all those who fell and there could be a statue of cap and tony.

and que reboot

I think we should be more focused on starting the DCCU. I think we should just end the DCCU with Kingdom Come if you're interested.

Okay, you do realize that Sony will never give up the rights to Spiderman, right? And Fox might give up Fantastic 4 (although I kind of doubt it), but they'll never give up X-Men? Which is good, because having that many teams & characters might work in comics, but it will not work in a movie.

As for DC, yeah, it's kinda early to be thinking of ending it, when you don't even know how, or if, it will really work.
