Several of the crew associated with The Avengers and other Marvel films have taken to their Twitter accounts letting their fans, followers and supporters of their work know that it is important to listen to the passionate message by Emma Watson.

<img src="/images/users/uploads/29943/avengerssupportemma.jpg" />

Whedon stated, "This is a must."  Ruffalo wrote, "Bravo Emma Watson at HeForShe2014... Me and Women Equal.  Count me in."  Hiddelston wrote about Watson, "You are impeccable and extraordinary.  I stand with you.  I believe in gender equality."

What do you think of their comments and what it means to their fans?

Watson recently spoke at the UN asking for men everywhere to be a part of the movement that increases respect for women AND for men.  You can see the transcript of her message here:

The future belongs to women.

But we already knew that.

All for gender equality, but not from the stance everyone else wants it. Women deserve equal opportunities as a man, which for the most part is the case, but I don't want feminist policing which constitutional rights they can mess with, so they won't be offended. If you have to [frick] with people rights to get the "equality" you strive for, then I want no part in it. Women deserve to have every right a man has and to be treated fairly(in places like the work place) which again, for the most part is the case.

If you go to Joseph Gordon Levitt's twitter account, he's been posting a BUNCH of stuff about what feminism actually is vs what people think it is. I could be wrong, but I think he's been doing that because it will be the focus of a web series or something like that. Well worth a look...and the comments of people that reply to those tweets are pretty eye-opening as well.

Sexism will always exist(until we evolve as a species) and our constitution protect the sexist things men and women say and do, as long as they do so without Infringing on other peoples rights. To have something good you must take the bad, but you don't have to enjoy it. That why you have the right to protest, but you can't forcibly take their rights away.

I'm not saying Emma wants to infringe on people rights, but something I've notice from most of the non radical and non tumbler feminist, that mirrors the rads and tumbler feminist, is wanting mandate changes that goes against the constitution. You have to inspire change to make change.

Okay, lets fight about it? If you want change, fight for it. :-P

For the most part there is already equality. Tons of laws even protect women more than men. What more does she [frick]ing want?

At this point, the ones who don't support gender equality are the ones whose opinion won't change regardless so these campaigns are kind of futile. Governments are already bending over backwards to give women opportunities, what else can be done?

I am all for gender equality but lets also get rid of all the things that society forces men to do for women like buy diamond engagement rings, always pay for dinners and always be the ones to take out the trash and mow the lawn. A lot of women say they want equality but do they really? Also what the [frick] does she expect the UN to do?

Feminism in theory is about gender equality, but in practice it is almost always about "tearing down the patriarchy" and elevating women above the "oppressors". It's garbage.

@RichardBoldly
"I NEED to marry her."
Better you than me... Ugh.

@Pasto
They want to be treated equally until they can use their "powers of persuasion" to get what they want. (And I didn't mean sex, you misogynists!)
