Many may disagree but I feel Supernatural has definitely risen in popularity over the last couple of years. This year they tested a spin-off show online and now it seems it's branching off to other types of genres like Anime.
Earlier this month the Warner Brothers Japanese website announced its team up with MADHOUSE studios to develop a Supernatural anime. Along with the announcement came their slogan for the show, "There is more to Supernatural than what is seen in the show. This is the birth of a new anime and you've never seen the characters like this before!" (Wow, what a lame, cliche slogan...)
According to the website Supernatural Wiki,"The first season will be twenty-two episodes covering the first two seasons of the original, remaking some episodes and adding new ones, to include the brothers' childhood, focus on secondary characters, and anime-only enemies."
The Japanese voices of the brothers will be Yuya Uchida (who roles include: Soul Eater's Dr. Franken Stein, Naruto Shippūden's Rinji) who will dub the role of Sam, while Hiroki Touchi (who roles include: Trinity Blood's Abel Nightroad, Bokurano's Kokkpelli) will dub the role of Dean (This guy actually sounds like Jensen Ackles if he were speaking in Japanese.) Both actors dubbed these same roles for the live-action version in Japanese.
Supernatural Wiki also said, "At the Rising Con Spain 2010, Jensen and Jared confirmed the project and that they'd seen and approved the artwork for Sam and Dean. They also said they would voice the first couple of English language episodes."
Character Designs
I think this sounds interesting and I like the idea of seeing more of their childhood and more on secondary characters but I have to admit I'm not sure how successful this will be. I hope Jensen and Jared voice more than the first couple of episodes. Also can't wait to see what the anime version of Castiel will look like. Sound off below and as usual keep your Anti-Supernatural comments to yourself... Also am I the only one to find that slogan lazy and craptastic?
