ROAR is a new supernatural drama; a sober take on the superhero genre, told through real themes and experiences. It's about people with extraordinary powers, powers they spend their entire lives trying to control, and which ultimately consume them.

It's a film about generational bonds and disconnects, exploring the commitments of two brothers divided by pride, brought together to fulfill their Grandfather's final wishes. In doing so they question each others motives as they struggle to come to terms with what has been asked of them.

The writer/directors Stuart Langfield and Dylan Rekert love comics, graphic novels and superhero movies, but they're trying to strike out and create something that challenges the genre norms. There’s no arch nemesis, no theme song and definitely no spandex. The goal is to achieve something much more affecting, and human.

The film tries to relate these powers to the real world. The story centres on an ageing superhero suffering from dementia, he has the ability to create fire, but his declining health mirror that of someone with Alzheimer's, he can no longer control his abilities.

The kickstarter campaign is already running and is off to a great start, there's some really great rewards available including limited edition artwork, check it out, watch the teaser trailer and support below:
