Sexual Abuse Lawsuit Against X-MEN Director Bryan Singer Dropped By Accuser

Before the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Michael Eagan accused Bryan Singer of sexually abusing him when he was a minor. This led to the director having to drop out of junkets and shed some doubt on whether he'd helm X-Men: Apocalypse. Well, the lawsuit has now been dropped...

Four months after being accused of abusing Michael Eagen when he was a minor, the sexual abuse lawsuit against X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer has been dropped. The case was a huge talking point both here on CBM and across pretty much the rest of the internet as well. Singer would drop out of promoting the latest X-Men movie as a result of the accusations, while his involvement with 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse very much seemed to be up in the air and dependent on how things ended up going for Singer with this lawsuit. According to Variety, a federal judge granted Egan's motion for voluntary dismissal in U.S. District Court in Hawaii today, meaning that the case against the director of 2014's highest grossing superhero movie has now been dropped. The lawsuits against former Disney executive David Neuman and former TV exec Garth Ancier were also dismissed, and Singer can hopefully now get to work on the next X-Men movie!
