SpiderMiles's Top 5 Superheroes with Movie Potential

In the 1st of many of my top 5s, I explore Superheroes/Comic Books with actual movie potential and could actually have great hits and franchises.

Okay, in this top 5, I explore Comic Book Characters who have movie potential, let's start with one who has had one already.

1-Daredevil

Now I know he has already had a movie, but this is a no-brainer.
Daredevil may not have a rich rogues gallery, or that many brilliant stories, but as one of marvel's more popular B-Class heroes, he should get the movie he deserves.
Maybe with him being back with Marvel Studios, he'll get his time to shine with a movie or TV show.

2-Deadpool

Now, being one of my favourite characters, I would love to see Deadpool done right, forgetting that garbage that was Weapon XI.
Now imagine this, an R/18 rated movie, with a sensible balance between action and comedy, some fourth wall breaking, but no too extreme a la Ultimate Spider-Man, and a good cast, very gory, and bam, The Ultimate Deadpool movie.

3- Spider-Man 2099

Now, you may argue that we already have Spider-Man on screen, however, I beleive that comic book movies shouldn't just make it so the GA should understand.
Think of all the great oppurtunities we've missed out on due to the studios worrying that the GA would be confused.
Old Man Logan?
Noir?
House of M?
But I think, with the right marketing and promotion, Spider-Man 2099 could be a hit with both the GA and the CB fans.

4-Iron Fist

He should because.... um, actually, I don't know why.
It's because he could lead into a Heroes for Hie movie.
Probably.

Finally, 5-Namor

Namor is a tricky one, as he could go two ways.
One, introduced in a Fantastic 4 movie and then get a spin off.
Or Two, as a seperate movie franchise.
Either way, it'll lose something if done one way.
Maybe we could do both in the future.

Well that's it for now, look out for next week's top 5, Top 5 Comic Book Heroes who need a game.

People give the daredevil movie a lot of shit but if you watch the directors cut you can see that there was a really good movie in there that got completely butchered by the producer. I think it will be interesting to see where marvel studios decide how to go with DD. Deadpool is a character I couldn't care less about, and just feels like a gimmick. In my opinion he's the poor man's spider-man amped up to 12 with the exception of the fact that he kills and occasionally breaks the fourth wall.

Good list, but iron fist needs more explanation.

1. The Flash
2. Martian Manhunter
3. World War Hulk
4. Wonder Woman
5. Spawn Reboot. Although after what happened with Dredd and Watchmen, I doubt that will ever happen now

Actually an epic underwater movie ABYSS slash AVATAR would be awesome...

For AQUAMAN!

Forget NAMOR.... an INVADERS movie would be so much sweeter with him in it!

DAREDEVIL and DEADPOOL by Marvel Studios would be so F'ing cool, not Fox or nothing, ya I know we got DD back whew :p

SPIDER-MAN 2099 from Marvel and BATMAN BEYOND from WB Blade Runner style ;)

Could be SCI-FI masterpieces in the making ;)

Yeah IRON FIST would make a great movie, the martial arts crowd would like it too, bonus.

DC DOESN'T count when talking about movie treatments simply because 9 times out of 10 DC hero movies get [frick]ed up! Only GOOD ones so far have been Superman 1-2, Batman 89-Returns, and Batman Begins-TDK...all the rest have just been total and complete shit. Warner Bros don't know how to handle a comic book property, therefore DC doesn't count...unless you really just LOVE watching your favorite heroes getting butchered on screen:)

Iron Fist alone would not be very captivating. I think SM 2099 is a great character, but studio heads would more than likely doubt the possible confusion it could bring.

The director's cut of "Daredevil" made it a better movie, not a good movie. Affleck either can't act or this was absolutely not the roll.

The guy that said add a Moon Knight movie... He's not even good in comics. He's Marvel's Batman without layers and the whole white costume would look ridiculous.

''Daredevil may not have a rich rogues gallery, or that many brilliant stories''

Wow you clearly have never read a DD comic in your life. DD is one of the most decorated marvel characters in terms of critically acclaimed runs you've got

Frank Millers run
The Man Without Fear
Born Again
Guardian Devil
Parts Of A Hole
Bendis' run
Brubakers run
Mark Waid's run so far
Daredevil: End Of Days so far
marvel72
marvel72 - 1/16/2013, 4:23 AM
best daredevil runs that spans hundreds of issues.

-miller
-bendis
-brubaker
-waid

as for daredevil not having any decent villains

-kingpin
-bullseye
-typhoid mary
-bushwacker
-nuke
-the spot
-the owl
-bullet

Okay, when I said about Daredevil having no good storylines or villains, I meant one's who could be easily adapted to the screen without look ridiculous.
Zeponi
Zeponi - 1/16/2013, 5:45 AM
Also, I don't think DC can make good movies outside of Superman and Batman, or possible Flash.
Spideyguy94
Spideyguy94 - 1/16/2013, 7:35 AM
@SpiderMiles Actually a lot of DD'S villains are quite easy to do. The only one who wears a ridicolous costume is bullseye, and even then you could streamline it and make it look less goofy. If they can do caps costume live action and pull it off then bullseye wouldn't be a problem.

SpiderMiles @ Your joking right?

Ain't u seen WATCHMEN???

That suckers as good as THE AVENGERS!

And RISES wasn't that good...

Still JLA will blow everything away
marvel72
marvel72 - 1/16/2013, 8:22 AM
@ leee777

it might but it'll be going up against the avengers 2,so its gonna have its work cut out for it.

that's even if the justice league gets made, its not 100% guaranteed.
Spideyguy94
Spideyguy94 - 1/16/2013, 9:44 AM
@AcidicHeart Nuke isn't a bad villain, especially considering how important apart he plays in born again which is considered one of, if not the best daredevil story ever. And I suggest you read bendis' run and you'll see that the owl is not a bad villain either considering what he does in it.
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 1/16/2013, 10:30 AM
MARVEL 2bh I don't care what ones bigger in 2015, if their both out that's the main thing bro :p

Oh it'll get made, sad thing is WB could've made it b4 Avengers, gets a kick up their DC asses when Avengers turns out to be one of the biggest movies of all time!

; D

Biggest year for CBM's ever, cannot wait!

I'm only saying that coz most of the world knows Superman, Batman, WW over Thor etc, though Iron man's getting there and Hulk's there yeah : D
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 1/16/2013, 10:36 AM
Btw ANIMAL MAN needs to be done, so untouched and ignored from WB it ain't funny!

Nerdman @ I feel ya, FOX and SONY has done their fair share of Marvel butch up's too ; D
marvel72
marvel72 - 1/16/2013, 11:38 AM
@ AcidicHeart

yeah they ain't greatest of villains but they would do as secondary villains,i forgot some others as well.

-gladiator
-mr.hyde
-mister fear
-scarecrow
-gut rot

@ leee777

i agree we're the real winners here as long as both movies are good.

as for the animal man movie, the current series which is my favorite dc comic at the moment should be directed by del toro & have someone like ryan gosling in the title role.

Um, okay, how about next time I do a Top 5 DC heroes?
GuardianDevil
GuardianDevil - 1/16/2013, 11:32 PM
1. Daredevil-his other film wasn't really all that bad, but it could've been way better. But I have to disagree with you on one thing, Daredevil's stories are some of the best..

2. Namor the Sub-Mariner-Yeah, Namor's awesome. He has the potential to be just like Thor, a powerhouse character that girls are gonna go for, but hopefully most guys think he's cool too.

3. Flash-He has the potential to be as popular as Spider-Man, the wisecracks, the cool powers. I could see Flash becoming the next big hit with kids and adults.

4. Black Panther-he could be the next Batman, except he's way cooler than Batman.

5. Deathstroke-He should defintely get his own movie soon, he could be big hit with the Wolverine/Punisher crowd...

I say forget Deadpool. I think a tv show with Iron Fist and Luke Cage would be awesome, but maybe not a movie. I also feel that X-Men should be rebooted, using only the ORIGINAL five heroes and giving them what they deserve and screw Wolverine, he's too much of a popularity hog. I also think that Green Lantern and Ghost Rider are in desperate need of a franchise reboot.

Moon Knight PLEASE!!!!!!! If any marvel hero outside of the Avengers phases is going to be made PLEASE make Moon Knight! He needs movie love!
ThunderKat
ThunderKat - 1/18/2013, 9:47 AM
Not trying to argue, but I've yet to read a Moon Knight book that's compelling.
ForeverPowerful
ForeverPowerful - 1/18/2013, 12:12 PM
I just think Moon Knight would be a breath of fresh air into Marvel, since most of their movies being put out are flashy, superhero type movies. Avengers, Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Spiderman, etc. I love them all, I just kinda miss the smaller and darker productions that used to be made, like Blade style stuff and Daredevil was alright. He's a great and unique character that I think would be great in contrast to the main characters Marvel is spitting out.
IwasGroot
IwasGroot - 1/18/2013, 7:34 PM
@LEEE777 I agree completely, but I don't consider anything outside of the Marvel Movieverse to be Marvel cannon. DC movies are distributed by ONE friggin company, and STILL can't get it right lol
